I won a trip for 4 (3/12 w/ Updated Hotel Info)

Having gone to WDW 3x during the YOAMD and not winning anything, I was getting a little discouraged. We did end up winning something in October, but I was leary that it was real, so I held off talking about it. I wanted to make sure everything would go through before I posted anything about it.

Now that it has all been confirmed, I can tell that I won a trip for 4 to WDW for 4 nights/5 days, including airfare and 5 day park hopper tickets. It was from the disneyshopping.com Dream It and Win It sweepstakes. The only thing I am waiting on now is to find out which hotel we are going to be staying at and what airline we are flying on. I got a phone call yesterday saying that everything has been processed and is just awaiting receipt of the paperwork. There are two other contest winners taking their trips ahead of us, so their arrangements take priority.

Thanks! Yes i do have three others to go. The only thing I know right now is the hotel is supposed to be a deluxe resort (based on availability)

Wow, you lucky gal! I spend alot of time entering sweeps-mostly Disney, and it's so nice to hear from real winners!
I have won 2 IPod nanos thru Disney sweeps last year- but hope for a trip!

While I really hate to mention this (seriously), please make sure you know the going rate for a stay at the GF at the same time you're going, as well as the cost of airfare.

Disney will be sending you a 1099 form for the rack/published rate of everything you won. You can use the documentation you gather to report the 'going rate' of the prize on your tax return, versus the amount they send on the 1099. If you haven't already, please contact your tax preparer for more specific instructions.
