Disney 'Tigger' Rejects Plea Deal

I understand that it's the man who was costumed as Tigger that's guilty and not Tigger....but still...it hurts my heart when I read it. Maybe I'm too sensitive I guess.

It bothers me too. Why not costumed character, or something like that. But I think the defense is going for the costume hand coverings to be the main factor, so the Tigger suit would have to be a big news item. The guy must believe he has a pretty good defense to turn down the plea deal.

i agree,....bad headline.....but the press in just horrible...its all about sensationalism...after workin gin televsion around news people for 1.5 years...i hate news people.

this is why it is so important that Disney carefully screen and train their employees. This is a very good example of the fact that the people who wear those character costumes are representing Disney and everything they do, while in character, is public relations/publicity for the Disney name (good and bad).

Be that as it may, Disney uses that symbol (Tigger) as a hugely popular icon of goodness. You can't have it both ways, expect the character to be recognizable, in virtually every household of the planet, for wholesomeness and expect it to downplayed when the PR isn't so great.
