I wish I had packed (insert here) for my resort room.....

Bring lots of zip loc bags.

The BEST advice I have ever recieved from these boards is to throw the T.V. remote into a small zip loc bag and use it that way. Germ Free!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like Steffi's folder idea!!! I never thought of that and I'm always looking for something to put all the things I've collected in. The park maps, resort maps, stickers, napkins and everything else we collect while at the World make wonderful things for my Disney scrapbooks and now I'll have something to put them in. Thanks for the great idea Steffi!!!

I also take a pocket folder with our confirmation letter, PS listing, etc. I put two business-size envelopes in it - one marked "Food" and another marked "Miscellaneous". That way, at the end of the day, we can account for all our receipts and they're not stuffed here or there. The folder pockets get filled up with maps, hotel info, and momentos. When reality comes crashing down (as it always does) :sad2: everything is in one place.

A notepad.

At the end of each day before bed, write down everything you did that day so you can remember things you did once you get back home. This also helps with scrapbooking, etc.. Also keep some of the park brocures for pictures, etc. for scrapbooking/photo albums.

Eyore4Ever149 - thanks for the heads up on the mold. We returned two weeks ago & had used our ponchos. I just went and pulled them out & the mold had started on DS's!

Thanks for the tips everyone!!! I just added palmolive wipes and anti-bacterial wipes to our list! This thread is great! :)

A string or something to attach in the bathroom or on the balcony to hang hand washed wet bathing suits. I rembered little clips - just nothing to clip them on. :rotfl:

Over to door hooks for bathroom to organize everyone's towels. If you are on the first floor, a security lock that fits in the slider.

I especially love the idea about the power strip. Do you know how many times I'm unplugging this and that to plug something else in?!

Although it's been mentioned a few times, we always bring a sound conditioner. Especially now that many of the resorts have motion detected A/C systems where the AC goes on an off throughout the night. It wasn't bad when the A/C would stay on but when it shuts off it gets very quiet. Having the sound conditioner keeps a solid sound in the background, thus allowing the kids (and parents) to have a better night's sleep.

Someone also mentioned bringing a roll of quarters. I have nothing against doing that but I would suggest they are not in a roll but rather scattered in a ziploc bag if you are flying. The reason being we were stopped at a security checkpoint in the airport and they kind of made a big ta-do over the roll of quarters thinking it was something else.

I have quite a few must haves myself.....

*Lots and lots of cheap ponchos from Wal-Mart and the dollar stores. You can use them and throw them away. You can also share.
*A hard folder to put park maps and any paper pieces I collect for scrapbooking.
*Too much film....better to have too much than not enough and have to pay Disney by the roll.
*Mosquito Spray
*Lots of extra socks and undies. Gotta have enough so that if we go back to the hotel and take off our shoes, we have a fresh pair to put on.
*I print up a small card on cardstock paper (and laminate it) that has all of our reservation numbers on it as well as our resort phone number.
*Labels from my laser printer that have our name, cell phone number, resort name and resort number to label film, cameras, camcorder tapes, etc. Just in case we drop the film somewhere, hopefully a CM would return it to us.
*Travel Size Toiletries - We bring all of our shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, shower caps, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, and everything else in small disposable sizes so that we can just toss everything at the end of the trip. This gives us room for souvenirs and the little things we pick up from here and there.

We went last year in July (usually go in May) and I didn't bring a jacket. I thought "hey, it's July...it's going to be so warm that I don't need a jacket". Well, I regreted that! We stayed at the BWI and we were on the 3rd floor at the end of the hall - and it's a LONG hall! It rained most of our trip and when we came inside from the rain and had to walk down that long hall I was freezing. It takes me a long time to get warm so even when we went back outside I was still cold. I wish I had brought my nice warm blue gap jacket with the hood. I will make sure I bring it this year if only for the plane ride (that's a bit chilly too). I'm hoping for no rain this trip. We were so miserable with the constant rain last year.

Also, I know this is off topic but since I was talking about my trip in July and how rainy it was... (don't laugh) I was panic-ing about the number of snakes I had seen. I never saw one during our trips in May. I about had a heart attack after getting off the Dinosaur ride at AK and made some poor little girl cry because I was carrying on like a lunatic. Then I saw one near the petting zoo. Is this typical to only to see snakes during rainy times or all the time? Or have I just been lucky on our trips in May? I definitely don't want to see one again. For goodness sake, I can't even stand to look at them on T.V. :earseek:

It rained reguarly during my August, 2003 trip, but didn't see any snakes. 'Course, I'm not terrified of them, so I don't really look for them! If I do (I live in the desert, so it does happen), I give them a very wide birth. They were here first! :)

The power strip is funny, and very useful! I have an 8-foot, 3-outlet extension cord that lives in my carry-on bag, along with my hot pot (carry it only in winter or expected cold weather), varying sizes of zip top bags from snack through one-gallon (replaced when I return from each trip) and a small (6-can) soft-sided cooler, a night light for the bathroom, and a flashlight--just in case!. I have to make a conscious decision to remove these items from my luggage each trip! :)

These are some great ideas!!!!

My fav's are the

Folding hamper
Over the door shoe holder

From our last trip:

1. nightlight
2. my own shampoo/conditioner
3. palmolive wipes for the refillable mugs
4. DH really missed his Gevalia coffee---so it will be coming this trip
5. outlet covers for curious toddler fingers
6. extra ziploc bags. to cover up any "leakable" bottles to take to parks, like sunscreen, insect repellant

I have a little thermal lunch bag that I pack with:
coffee whitener, tea, instant coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, instant soup, instant oatmeal, plastic spoons, prepackaged crackers, and drink cyrstals. Its amazing what you can make with hot wate from a coffee maker!

I will be packing my Yankee Candle Electric Home Fragrancer. It will remind us of home and make the room smell nice - no matter what room your in. ;)

Love the power strip idea too! There are never enough outlets and they seem to put them in inconvenient places.

So many great ideas! I am writing them all down so I don't forget. From our last trip:
Brita refillable water bottles. These worked great. We filled them wiith ice in the morning and then refilled later in the parks. The filters make even Florida water taste good! I made bottle straps for them too. Very convenient!
