I wish DVC had pet friendly rooms

Dog owner here, too. I have no doubt that there are many conscientious pet owners and well-behaved pets. But there are many, MANY more who are not so conscientious and well-behaved. You can set up all of the rules you want but all it takes is a few rule breakers--even well-meaning ones--to ruin others' vacations.

Finding a pet sitter can be challenging at times, but that's MY problem not Disney's. I don't expect them to change their rules--nor would I break existing rules--just to make my vacation planning easier.

Right on! I have sometimes had to spend upwards of $150 a day for a pet sitter. Believe me, that adds up after a 10 day trip, and it always has to be paid up front!

I love animals but please...no pets! The rooms get damaged enough with the people staying there. I can't imagine the maintenance and cleaning costs associated with having animals there too!

NO WAY NOT EVER, I also would not have bought into DVC if this was allowed (besides service dogs of course which are always welcome)

I am right with those who pay a small fortune to have my beagle properly taken care of when DH and I go away. I spent quite a long time finding a reliable wonderful place for our dog and would not take a vacation if they were not available. He stayes with trainers who keep all the dogs in a pack setting around the facility with structured play/ nap times and constant reinforcement of good behavior (plus they post videos online to watch them). All this being said I know that he acts completely differently with them than with us. It took them 2 months to get him to eat with other dogs and go outside to go to the bathroom, things he has no issues with here so I don't care how quiet and well behaved your dogs are with you at home they can behave completely differently in a strange setting!! Plus I like the freedom of coming and going as I wish at WDW something that would not be possible with the beagle in the room.

Personally, my Chug (1/2 Chihuahua/Pug mix) does not enjoy fireworks as much as we do, so she goes to a friend's horse farm for the week! She loves it and it's one less thing I have to take care of on vacation.

Maybe they'll make it a timeshare and you can buy points for your pets to coincide with your DVC vacations!

LOL, cute idea to have the new kennels be a timeshare! That's okay by me, but I really don't want them in my home away from home. Not mine, and not anyone elses either.

BTW, service dogs are VERY well behaved. They should be no problem at all.

I couldn't disagree more, but remember it's just my opinion. And this is coming from someone who owns 2 Labs that I absolutely love. Here's the problem...

1. Pet hair, it's unavoidable and everywhere. I would never want to subject non dog owners or mousekeepers to that.

2. Dog poop. As much as you say that you are contientious, not everyone is, period. Nuff said about that.

3. Barking. And you know it will start. Incessantly.

4. Smell. From fur, pee accidents etc.

It just should never be allowed. These resorts are just too beautiful and clean to bring dogs and cats in, no way, no how.

This says it all.. NO NO and a DOUBLE NO!!!!!!!...smjj
