(I thought I posted this, but could not find it and did not get replies, so I guess it did not go through)

Well, unfortunately my Windows decided not to work anymore. We have Linux on this computer, but VMK runs SO SLOOOOOOW on it, that the only time I will be getting on for a while is for my daily credits. We ordered a new Windows XP CD, but until it arrives, no VMK for Miakoda and Coughcoolghoul. It's just so slow it's irritating to play. Don't worry about getting the new hats for me, I am able to make mules and get the hats, it just takes FOREVER. So if you see me on, I won't be on for long. I will be going through serious withdrawal! And this is my last week of freedom before I start my new 6pm to 3am job, too...

You will therefore see a lot more of me on the DIS though, so I can get my VMK fix vicariously through all of you.

Captain Brain, I will make a point to meet you to make our trade though, if you can bear with my slowness

Will miss you all!!!! Have fun and try to survive without me (LOL).

Hey Mia,do you have a local libaray?They will let you get on the internet for about 1 hour.I know its not much time but it gives you time to do several things online.

Dell? I don't even have a Dell No, our windows got a virus and is just shot. It has slowly been dying and now, it's truly dead. We just need to reinstall it, but we don't have a disk, or can't find it, so coughcoolghoul was able to find Windows XP Pro on Ebay, new, for only 50 bucks! I think it's a 200 dollar program. If we were willing to pay full price, we could go to CompUSA and have it already, but we have to wait for it to be mailed to save money.

I can use Linux just fine for internet, just not vmk. I'm sure a lot of people play vmk on slow computers or with (gasp!) dial-up...but I just can't handle the slowness. I am waaaay too impatient! LOL. If I get to the point where I can't stand it, I may just have to play anyway. Also, not only is it slow, but the text looks all funny so it's hard to tell what people are saying.

cteddiesgirl, thanks for the congrats! I hope the job is not too bad....at least it's a casual place, I can wear jeans! You know, it seems that all call centers would be that way since the customers cannot actually SEE us. But the last few I have worked in have been business casual. I mean, who really cares? We could be in our pajamas and the person on the phone would have no idea. We could even be naked! LOL ok that's a bit much, but you know what I mean.

Yes, I'm such a nerd that I had to get the hat this weekend, and the only
way I could do it for myself was to go to the library's computer lab.

Painting is almost done, but I have new furniture coming, so no computer

I will let you know. I plan on running the store more when I come back But I will definitely not attempt to do it with vmk being slow...it's hard enough as it is! And we are hoping to go back to MK before the year end so we don't miss the tour. I'm thinking about calling guest services and explaining what happened last time, how we went only to go on the tour and missed it b/c of the monorail incident...and see if we can get free tix do you guys think they would do that? And anyone know the number or how to find the # for guest services?

Either way, we probably will go back (maybe after Xmas if we get the passes...that all depends on $$$). Jason hinted at it So if we go, I will let you know, Flying, and maybe we can meet up again (and possibly do the tour together!) Also, if anyone else is planning on going to WDW near or after Christmas, let me know. It would be cool to get a VMK/DIS group to go and hang out together in the REAL kingdom!

Dell? oh great lol don't get me started on dell's, I have 4, 3 broke in 2 months. 2 got viruses I had to whipe the WHOLE computer off, lost everything. My Dell printer broke after a week and I only used it twice, and when I call I get some guy in India who can barely speak English! So I vowed never to get anything Dell again, lol.

you're welcome! Hope she likes it. I hope I won't be gone too long either. besides missing vmk, this Linux is KILLING me! I can't even watch videos on ebaumsworld or do other stuff. It's like learning to use a computer all over again. I know Linux is supposed to be a lot more stable than Windows and there are some die-hard Linux fans out there....but it's just so much of a pain in the rear end to use if you don't know how!!!! And every application out there is for Windows or MAC. ARRGGG. My disk better come SOON!
