DD6 is in private school and I had to go register her today, while I was there I got a job!!! I am a K-4 teacher :teacher: and they asked if I was going back to the school I was at, I told them no and I was offered the position right there  The 2 biggest perks are $2 more per hour and a 40% tuition break :cheer2: :woohoo: My first official day is Aug 10. Im so excited and had to share with my dis friends :)

Thats fantastic!!!! Congrats!!!

How awesome and what a great deal!! A tuition break when you weren't even budgetting it sounds like more money for WDW if you ask me!

Congrats on the new job.

From one teacher to another...CONGRATS! Yay!! :)

Congratulations!!

Teachers are paid by the hour there????? I have never heard of that!!

Congrats!!!!! :thumbsup2 Stumbled upon jobs are the best!!

Congrats! Now that you're through with the pixie dust, will you send it my way? I'm trying desperately to get a new job. I wish it was that easy for me. Again, Congrats. You must be having a great day! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for all the well wishes!!!!!!!!! I told DH now we can go to Disney again next summer, he rolled his eyes. What is wrong with this man :confused3

congrats! not to burst your bubble, but as a former private school teacher just an advisement to check out-

does the tuition reduction eliminate during the periods of time you do not teach "full time"? (some schools look at months in which there are holiday breaks as non full time months, as well as periods of time in which you exceed the alloted sick-leave (if they offer any) accruals and june (cuz you teach less than a full month) as non eligible tuition reduction months)-helps to know for budgeting.

do they provide for workman's compensation or state disability insurance?(wierd, but because alot of private schools are under the umbrella of "non profit groups"-they are exempt from carrying worker's comp or paying into state programs for injuries). it may not seem like a big deal-but depending on your economic situation it may be prudent to get a long term disability policy (had a co-worker who was accidently pushed by a child and broke her leg-the private school was exempt from both workmans comp and state disability-so she ended up off work/no pay/no tuition discount for the kids-for over 6 months!
