We'll be going to the reception in a few hours but while I was hanging about I thought I'd check out my DIS boards.

Let me tell you of the wedding I was just at. It was at a lovely hall, the colors were dusty rose and light brown, the bride was beautiful, and music as she walked down the isle stirring and touching. The ceremony was proceeding as planned when the MOH started looking decidedly gray. She began to sway and then went down. Hard. There was some confusion but the ceremony finally paused while the MOH was carried to the chairs and laid down with the feet elevated. (Luckily there was a nurse on hand.) It took several minutes for her to regain consciousness. And even longer for her to be able to stand back up.

What was her best friend, the bride, doing during all this? Good question! She never left her post at the front clasping her grooms hands. She never inquired if her friend was okay, just stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for the MOH to get back on her feet and return to her position.

I understand the day is all about the bride, but if one of your attendants passes out, put a short stop on things and make sure they're okay! Then let them sit through the rest of the service. Poor MOH!

I have to say I agree with you. If i was the bride and my best friend was passed out then i'd be by her side ....altho I would also think that if i was right next to her would I just be in the way of the nurse.

So agree and disagree with what you've said - at the end of the day though the MOH is ok (well, I hope she is and she was ok during the rest of the day)

See, if that bride was really clever she'd have lept to her bridesmaid's side and made sure that both the photographer and the videographer got a good shot of her being so selfless and allowing her friend to ruin her wedding... just imagine the sort of power she could wield with guilt like that! Muaw ha ha ha! :rotfl: pirate:

Edit: I'm just joking, I don't thinik that came across well enough in the above.

Wow I would have been right by the side of my MOH if that happened!!! Especially since she is my cousin...:rotfl:

I would have stopped the wedding to make sure she was ok. I don't think it would have ruined anything. Things like that happened. Did they ever find out what was wrong with her? Was it the heat?

Not sure what was wrong. The MOH stayed for photos and dinner but went home prior to dancing.

I don't think pausing everything for 10 minutes would have ruined the wedding. It's not as though the MOH planned on fainting! I would just like to think that if someone in my wedding party had passed out I would have at least shown some concern that they were alright, rather than stand there like a rock. I and certainly wouldn't have made her stand back up! :sad2:

Aww that is a sin.....I would have definitely been by her side..as long as Tim and the rest of my family! Lisa and I have been BF since we were 5,she is family.

That's terrible! I can't believe the bride did that! I'd be so freaked out if that happened in my wedding. Not for the fact that it was "ruined", because it wouldn't be (if the MOH turned out to be okay, I'd probably start making jokes about it anyway, lighten the mood), but for the fact that someone so close to me is hurt or sick.

I really hope the MOH is okay though. That must have been really scary.

That is exactly how my evil mind would come across, so we will be sisters in irony / sarcasm / poor taste in humour? ;)

Well, along those lines, maybe the bride was wearing a really big poofy dress and would be more likely to smother her friend in thule rather then actually be any help. And get down on the floor, in that dress, after what she paid for it? Not gonna happen :happytv:

Oh thank goodness! Some sisters in wicked. :wave2: I felt so bad when everybody else was being all earnest and concerned for the bridesmaid's welfare and I was just being sarcastic and catty. I'm glad I'm not alone! :grouphug:
