I was thinking about age differences between my Mom, myself and my son

I don't feel old enough to have a 17 y.o. son but, as of today, I am. I can't believe Justin is 17 today (like how I snuck that in? :teeth: )! . And I didn't have him until I was 27.

Then I got to thinking... my mother was only 20 when I was born. When I was 17, she was only 37 (a youngster in my eyes). By the time she was the age I am now, I was 24, I had been out on my own for 4 years and had just gotten married.

By the time she was my age, all the aggravation of my teenage years was over for her, all the worry of my leaving the nest was over for her, and she had the happiness of my being married and off on a good start in the world. She was through worrying about my learning to drive. She was through dealing with my teenage raging hormones. She no longer had to worry about my school grades or how I would deal with peer pressure. My parents had peace and quiet in the house. I'M JEALOUS!!!

But Happy Birthday to Justin. :teeth:

Happy Birthday Justin!!:)

Hi Laura ~

I know what you mean about not being old enough to have a 17 year old! ;) My Ashley will be 17 on Monday. :( How did this happen, I thought it was just yesterday when she first stepped foot on that big yellow school bus, and here she is ready to graduate in a year.

Anyways, I started younger (18)..........so now I am a 35 year old mom of 17 (dd) and 11 (ds) year olds! I would much rather be a "young mom" than a "too old mom" that can't keep up with them!!

Happy Birthday to Justin! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Happy Birthday to Justin!! Having my 19 year old nephew living with us, I had forgotten how much a teenager can drive you NUTS!! Sent him to work with DH this afternoon, so I could have some peace and quiet.

Happy Birthday to Justin!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Justin!

My DD will be 18 in November!!!

AAAHHH!! She will be a senior then. Still does not want her license. Not too worried about it!

my mom had my sister at (almost) 25, me at (almost) 27, and my younger sister at (almost) 29. I didn't have Daniel until I was 34...almost 35. When she was my age she had 3 kids who were all in school.

My dh's mom had him at 19, so by my age (35 now) he was already a teen. I cannot even fathom having a teen right now.
