About Mrs. Heinz Kerry's "shove it" remark. Surely, we DISers must have opinions???

if your a Republican, it was horrable, if your a Democrate whats the big deal

I'll sum it up... she was dead wrong about the question at hand, but the reporter probably deserved it anyway ;)

Who can understand a word she says? She sounds like one of the Gabor sisters.

I thought it wasn't the right thing to say...but I'm sure many people have wanted to say that to reporter at one time or another. I'm still trying to figure out why she was getting upset. She did use the term unamerican...and all he was doing was asking what she meant by it. Unless all I heard were soundbites taken out of context?

Not a big deal. I can think of much worse things she could have said. "Shove-it" is nothing....

Nancy, I don't think you did hear the soundbites taken out of context because I read a text copy of what was said and her anger still didn't make sense to me. I was really surprised over her anger too. I can see why reporters can really make canidates and their wives angry at times but I couldn't figure out why this particular one did. He didn't seem to be saying anything wrong or out of the way to me.

I thought I heard everything, but I half asleep so I wasn't sure.
I guess of all the things she could have said...shove it wasn't so bad.

A stressful time for sure. Based on the excerpt I saw, I didn't see a reason for the little outburst, but maybe there has been stuff leading up to it?

If Senator Kerry gets elected Presidnet, she's going to be under a lot more stress than that though, so she better practice temper control!!!!

Don't want the public to start getting the impression that she's a loose cannon.

Not a big deal at all... and I'm a republican. A lot better than Dick Cheney's f*&% you comment last month.

Republicans make the cutest digs against the Kerrys. This one is adorable!

Anyway, I want to thank the Republicans on this board for not making a big deal about her lapse in composure. This is why I could never have married a politician. I would be quoted daily having said some horrible thing or another :D .

Let's stick with the issues; m'kay? (I watched the Southpark movie last night and I'm going to be saying that all day.)

I think it was after she found out what newspaper he was from... I didn't mind the 'shove it' remark as much as her denying what she just said and not explaining what she meant by un American. What did she mean? I still don't get it.

Somehow I can't see Laura Bush saying that! It would probably be even BIGGER "chatter" here.

You're right! LOL I think I'd like her better if she did something like that!

The Gabors were eastern European, Heinz Kerry's accent is
Portugese and Afrikaner. Actually quite different. As I was
listening to her speech last night, I forgot she even had an
accent. You must live in some small town to not be accustomed
to accents in 2004!!! Where I live is a melting pot of accents,
skin color, religion, dress. I love it-it's the United States of America brother/sister; we all came from somewhere at sometime.
Or are you native American? I descend from two Revolutionary
War families, one German and one French. The RW familes both
came from Scotland originally.

Why was everyone in an uproar over what Cheney said but for Heinz, it's no big deal...even when what she said was totally unwarranted.

First of all, there was no uproar from me -- I don't like him but I have better reasons than swearing. Secondly, "shove it" is a little pale in comparison to "f-off" ; don't you think?:D .
