I was so disappointed...

We are all Disney lovers but even we can't love, or even like, everything. What DLR experience was just not all that you had hoped? Which ride or show do you think is all hype?

This is an opinion question, so lets try to be kind to each other even though we won't all agree.

I personally don't care for the Laughing Stock Comedy show in the Golden Horseshoe. I know it means well and its all about corny jokes but to me its just subpar. I really enjoy Billy Hill and the Hillbillies (Elvis Billy) and wish they would take over the Golden Horseshoe again.

Wow... something I was disappointed with... I know this is going to raise blood pressures, but for me it was the Disneyland Hotel. :( We were use to staying at the GCH and expected it to be a similar experience since it was a similar price and for us it wasn't. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not saying it's a bad hotel. It just wasn't what we expected. I had paid extra for a theme park view because I wanted a great view of the fireworks. Most of our view was another building. We have had better views in standard rooms at GCH. The room itself was smaller than the PPH rooms we have stayed in and to us the headboards didn't warrant the bigger price. The pools were crowded and a bunch of drunk people were hanging out there every time we went down.
I have repeatedly read other DISers reviews of DLH and they always sound so thrilled with it. I always wonder what I missed or if it was just a bad week there.
Sorry if I upset any DLH fans. I'm just honestly answering Larina's post. ;)

I also think they need to replace and update Innoventions and Captain EO. BUT that is going to open up a whole other can of worms.

For me, it's non-magical CMs. Most CMs work very hard to be friendly and helpful, so it is quite a rude awakening (literally) when I encounter one who is rude, short tempered, critical, etc. Thank goodness, it doesn't happen often, but it can really put a damper on a DLR visit.

I'd say our biggest disappointment was the Pat E. Cake birthday celebration at the Plaza Inn. The big draw was supposed to be that you get to meet Minnie & Mickey, so we were of course looking forward to that. Instead of coming around to each table like a regular character dining experience, they plopped themselves in the corner and you had to line up to meet them. We spent a good 20 minutes of the party waiting in line. I could wait in line to meet Mickey & Minnie in ToonTown if I wanted to; I was disappointed we paid money to do it there.

I think I am the only person on the face of this earth who is just over Fantasmic!
My husband dragged me last year to the 20th anniversary special viewing for AP holders and I was bored, thank God for the food. I think I am broken... I loved it the first 10 years. :-)

Not the only one. For the last several years we take advantage of F! time to ride rides without lines.

All the wasted potential in Tomorrowland. Ever since they got rid of the People Movers (and the short-lived Rocket Rods) there's all that track for nothing. Most of Tomorrowland (aside from Star Tours, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, and Submarines) is just wasted space at this point.

Toontown with the exception of GoGoGadget....everything else is just "eh" IMO

Tommorowland with the exception of GoGoGadget....everything else is just "eh" IMO

GoGoGadget is actually in TOON TOWN.

But I agree with those who mention Tomorrowland! It needs a makeover!

Capt EO should move on now. It's time. Along with Innoventions!

(Star Tours, Buzz, AO, Nemo, Space and Autopia can stay!)

Oh goodness, I meant Toontown, sorry LOL!!!

I know it would be considered blasphemy to say this - but the Matterhorn really doesn't do anything for me:eek:. I just find it uncomfortable (even before the new sleds) and not that thrilling. I ride it once per trip just to say I did and then I am done.

It also took a really long time for Indiana Jones Adventure to grow on me. I will only ride that with a FP - I have never gone through the regular queue.

For me it would be Innoventions. Boooooooring.

And shame on all of you for saying get rid of Captain EO :lmao: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: ;) :rotfl: :yay: I happen to love that old classic.

Captain EO I happen to love that old classic.

That's exactly what it is an 'old classic' and I think 3 years has been long enough and time to shelf it and bring something NEW in there even if they need to bring back HISTK until they can find something new. ::yes::

I was disappointed with the Grand Californian Hotel. From everything I heard, I was expecting a grand hotel, and was disappointed with what I found. It's a beautiful hotel, but nothing amazing.

In California Adventure I was disappointed with Soarin. I found it boring. You watch a movie from a swing. :confused3 I don't get it.

In Disneyland Park there is the obvious Rocket Rods from back in the day. I was also disappointed with Indiana Jones. The best part is the queue, so that's never a good thing for a ride. I was disappointed with Fantasmic. I got a little bored with the whole show. And, I went specifically to see Murphy, and he wasn't there. :(

Finding Nemo - I dragged DH into the line up for this back in March 2011 when it was still an hour wait from opening. I think I hyped it up to him as well as usually there's no way we'd wait an hour for anything... :rolleyes1

I wish they would change the smoking area that is over across from the wait line for the Matterhorn. If you are waiting in line (which can be long) you are subjected to all that smoke. :headache:

The new Matterhorn... not just the new sleds, but the fact that it's so much slower. When it was over, my wife who was a first-timer was silent. I just said, "Well... that was lame." Wife responded, "Well, *I* wasn't going to say it."

Also, I would second Soarin'. My friend at work told me about how it was her favorite ride... and it was just okay. Wife and MIL checked it out first while I watched the kiddo, and when they were done, I almost had to drag my wife to ride it with me.

I hate to follow but Innoventions, Captain EO & the Nemo Submarines.. I mean why such a long line anyhow?? Maybe it's just meant more for the lil ones... I am looking forward to the addition of Innoventions when they bring Iron Man as my step son will love it but I agree Tommorowland needs a makeover :scared1:
