I was offered a studio at the WVL....

and I took it. I had a standard view room booked at the lodge and then called to apply my DIS VISA code, and they had no standard rooms available, but offered a studio for $200 less. Well, I took it, but don't know much about the old villas. Are they nice? How far from the lodge are they? from the lobby? Please tell me I made an OK choice - i am a little frightened.

You were definitely upgraded!
The villas are very nice. They include a refrigerator, microwave and small bar sink.
They have a queen size bed and a double sofa sleeper. The sleepers have been changed to very comfortable ones.
They are right beside the lodge, with a covered walkway between the buildings.
There is also a quiet pool.
The actual villa building also houses the health club.
The lobby is adorable, not grand like the lodge but more cozy.

You're going to love it!

You'll love it, we stayed in a 1 BR a year ago and plan on switching over at 7 months for a trip over Labor Day weekend 2008.

Thanks guys!! You know, I do extensive research to passify the OCD in me , and pick a place I KNOW I will love, then I call with the code and have to make a quick decision ( I am sure the room wouldn't have lasted all day) about something I knew nothing about EEE GADS!! I am not the most spontaneous person in the world, ya know. Anyhewwwww, thanks for telling me that we wil have a great time.

As long as you don't mind not having two beds, I don't think you will notice much difference.

there is one queen bed and a double (full) sleeper sofa.

the sofa is great for watching TV, reading, anything that you don't exact want to do in the bed.
