I am working at home today, I have been sick with cold for two weeks, so I decided to stay home. My DD 8 who has also been sick woke up with a sore throat and 103 temp, so she is keeping me company today. 
I was sitting at my computer working, and the ASPCA (?) commerical with the abused/neglected animals came on. BTW my DD 8 has told everyone who will listen to her since she was 4 or 5 that she is going to be a vet when she grows up. DD 8 told me during the commerical in her raspy voice that is what she is going to do. Not sure what she meant, I asked, "Do you mean help rescue animals who have been abandoned? She said "Ya, they have been abused and need someone to love them." 
I was moved to tears by her comment.
She has always been very loving child, but she again she surprised me! I just had to share this with everyone. I can't wait to see her become the vet she wants to be. Today at school, they were having "What I want to be" day as part of their Red Ribbon week, which is a campaign against drugs. She planned on dressing up as a vet, but she is home sick. She is hoping to feel well enougth to go out tonight. BTW, she is watching her favorite channel, Animal Planet.
