I was going to add on thru Disney but...

Par8hed, You did not have the picture last week because I would have noticed it when responding to a post of yours. I think its AWFUL and I'm in the 50% that is Democrat.

That said, I agree that I would buy a resale::yes:: unless it is a small add-on.

I think what Donald Rumsfeld is doing is distasteful.
If it's so offensive report it to a moderator or PM Par8hed.

I can't resist showing my naivete, but what exactly is so AWFUL about this picture? Isn't Par8hed just making a political comment ?
As far as the add-on, I think it really depends on the situation and the 'best' decision will vary by buyer.

Love the Rumsfeld pic! I find it ironic in the extreme!!!!

Aside from that, it stops and makes you go, "hmmm" -- which, regardless of your political persuasion and/or belief in the documentary/propaganda status of Fahrenheit 9/11 -- is *not* a bad thing.

When people *stop* thinking, *that's* a really bad thing....

Btw, regarding add-ons, I'm afraid we'll be going for an additional 70 points through DVC at our home resort of SSR -- despite the expense. (Note: I say "despite the expense" because we got a really good deal on a SSR resale through TTS -- much less than the regular $95/pt price or the price with the incentives!) Sigh. Oh well.

Cheers!

Any DVC. But Dh dearly hates paying ahead for anything.

In college he hated paying money at the grocery store. But an hour later didn't mind shelling out for fast food.Because then he was hungry.

So i am setting up a savings fund just for a small DVC resale.

As for the Rumsfield photo- think it is a great reminder that there is a history to the US involvement in Iraq. Tasteless would be far worse.

The photo displayed now is NOT the one on which people were commenting. Par8hed changed his sig sometime this evening.

I, for one, agree the Rumsfeld photo is much more appropriate. It's possible to make a political statement without the personal insult inherent to the original image.

Thanks for clarifying, I was really confused!

I don't agree with the signature or the sentiments it conveys but I don't let it get me down. Those who are informed know the history and how its twisted to suit the Moore types so its like France ....irrelevant

Umm... So then, by a logical extension of your thought processes, those who disagree with your opinion are ignorant regarding history and world events? That's fairly harsh.

Your sentiments border on what I'd call "fightin' words," and as such, (I think) really have no place in this forum. Everything (and I do mean everything) can have its meaning twisted, shaded, etc., and that's a distinct danger here. Let's not have this discussion degrade into political mudslinging.

Right or wrong, signatures are what they are and will be what they will be, depending upon the viewpoint/frame of mind of the signatory and witness. So it goes.

that the Rumsfield photo was not the original one. Was seriously worried about DISers who would consider that to be so offensive to warrant removal.

If we're taking a survey let me weigh in on the side of thinking the picture makes a very good point and I liked it.

The wonderful part of America... we're open to dissention.

... all I know is that in America you can even produce something like Fahrenheit 9/11 and call it a "documentary" instead of fiction, as it should rightfully be called.

And why is it fiction, what do you base that on? It is all accurate. What is fiction is that there were Weapons of Mass Destruction and that Saddam was involved in 9/11. Both huge lies told by the current administration.

This war was about oil. I don't see us invading any poor oil-less countries to "save the people" from a dictator. And Bush IS in business with the Bin Laden Family, it's not fiction.
