Ok, I know it's not a HUGE deal, but I'm pretty darn happy about it. One of my sub customers who works at the Boardwalk hotel gave me a "You've been discovered!" casting card from Disney. He says they're in desperate need of front desk clerks for the hotels, and after 3 months I could have full benefits for myself and Maddy. It is a paycut (almost $3 an hour), but at this time I'm getting ready to go to school and I really no longer want to work in a comic store. I really want to have a house, a working car, a better life for Maddy and I in the next few years. Right now, I live paycheck to paycheck with NO benefits, and I HATE IT. With Disney, I could move up the ladder (or have a much less stressful job while in school) and make something of myself.

Just wanted to share :teeth: I guess Joe says if you get one of those cards, you're pretty much hired. I'm going in next week for an interview, so please wish me luck!! :teeth:

Absolutely thrilled for you!!!!!:bounce: My cousin has worked for WDW for over 20 years and is very happy with the benefits. You and Maddy could REALLY benefit from that! :happy2:

Too cool Steph:D I think a lot of us would like to be "discovered".
Best of luck to you and Maddy:earsboy:

Congratulations and good luck with the interview. Here's hoping to a bright future!

You're a perky gal and they like that! Maybe it's something you should put some more thought into. :)

Hubby and I got cards too last winter.....we seriously considered interviewing at the time but felt we'd have to make better and more firm plans before jumping in like that. Some day though...some day. :teeth:

Now about that free upgrade :teeth:

J/K I think thats pretty cool and depending on what the benefits are they could be worth more than that $3 per hour.

Great news! I enjoy reading your posts, you always make me laugh. Best of luck on your interview!! You seem like just the type of person Disney likes to hire!

Now if they could only "Discover" they need me to be their lawyer...

Congrats. With everything else going on in your life right now a stable working environment with benefits sounds like it would be awesome. A $3 pay cut wouldn't be anything if you got sick and ended up needing something and not having insurance. That would cost lots more. Plus you are right about the moving up the ladder aspect.

I'll be crossing my fingers.

Congrats...

I hope you do well on your interview and wish you all the best.

That is GREAT, Steph. So very much hope all goes for you, and in tirn, Maddy. Benefits are SO important to have, I wish you the best. You will be a SUCCESS, you ARE a SUCCESS!!!!

Wow! Congrats and best wishes. May you find the perfect job for you and the perfect schedule for you and your lovely little girl. And good luck with custody too. Here's hoping you're soon on :cloud9:
