I want to see the point chart!

DVC is killing me with the 2011 point chart! It's the 40th anniversary of WDW and I wanna be there! I have a plan in my head, but I need to verify the points required!

I'm wondering if the delay is due to Ko Olina. If they are supposed to open sometime next year then they will need to figure out the points for the 2011 chart. Looking at the model I'm going to guess it will have several views like the AKV point chart.

Well, hopefully our wait wont be as long as it was for the 2010 charts! We didn't get those until last summer! I'm thinking the delay means more point "adjustments". You would think they would let the "new" point chart float for a year first to see how it works, but the delay is NOT making me encouraged about that.

They may publically say the reason is Ko Olina (really there is no reason they can't just release Ko Olina's charts later. Thbey'd rather convince you to buy more points for a Ko Olina stay than wanting you to hold off using points on WDW just for Ko Olina..)
I am more and more convinced there will be an additional reallocation (to finish what they could not legally complete in 2010 due to the 20% in ine year rule). Waiting until the last minute allows no time to organize a well-thought large group formal complaint and they can just say "well, we already have reservations using the new 2011 charts and don't want to mess those members up..."

The Magic Kingdom opened on 10/1/1971. The 40th anniversary of the park opening will be 10/1/2011.

Ko Olina is a mixed use resort (Hotel & Timeshare Units) that Disney is building on the island of Oahu. It's targeted to open late 2011.

Oh thank you, I have had a long day ( Dog had puppy) and I actually knew that. Hubby just shook his head at me and said" You were born in 1971 and I was there for opening . The hair dresser must have added to many highlights yesterday".

Ko Olina , I had read about that in Disney News. The name sounded like something that may have gone along with AKV. Like I said Dumb and Dumber question. I would have a cup of coffee , but to late in the pm. I will just sit back with some herbal tea and read not post when tired. Thank you. Jenn V.

I beleive that the 2010 charts were leaked on or about 1/22/09 (that's the print date on my copy), then formally released a few days later. With reservations in 2011 possible starting on 1/26/10, we should have 3 weeks or less left to wait. -- Suzanne

While that's true, we did NOT get the planner until June. I figure it's not official until I see it in print!

I seriously doubt that the point chart for Ko Olina is holding up the 2011 point charts. The point chart for BLT came out in late 2009 long after the other 2009 point charts were released.

I went back to look at the threads from last year. I really can't believe they 'released' the point charts 4 days before they were needed for reservations. If you call placed and retracted from the web sight as 'released'. Truely amazing!

I agree. Waiting until the last minute reduces the amount of complains they need to hear.

I posted this on the other 2011 point chart thread...

I decided to look through the changes they made between the 2009 and 2010 charts. I think one thing DVC my do in next years change is finish the reallocation they started but hit the 20% max ceiling.

Places where DVC hit the max reallocation in 2010 were and where there may be more change to come (generally speaking)..

The hardest hit...
VB - Everything
OKW - all but GV's
BWV - all Standard View and some PV studios

Others are sporadic or maybe max'ed because the point amounts (studios) are so small to begin with a 20% max may be 1 point.

VWL - 1bdrm in adv. and choice
ALV - Studios in adv and choice
BLT - Std view studios Adventure-Dream
SSR - Studios Choice-Magic & 1bdrm Choice
BCV - studios Dream-Premier & 2bdrm Premier
HHI - Choice Season all but 2bdrm & 2bdrm Adventure

It's a little late so I may have gotten a couple wrong here or there.
