one of those cds/dvds that have the pictures with the music. I want to surprise my dd's regarding our next trip and I thought this would be a fun way. What programs can you do this in....I have a Dell with windows xp.

Thanks for your help!!! :goodvibes

Sorry I don't know...but I did do a Microsoft powerpoint presentation and used personal disney pictures / text and added music to it once and it looked okay. Hopefully someone can come along and help out more :)

I'm waiting for someone to give you an answer too.. LOL

I have a Dell lap top - with Windows XP..

Right now I can't even back up my photos from my photo programs onto CD's because my Yahoo Juke Box burner keeps launching part way through and interrupting the process.. I've tried everything under the sun to stop the burner from launching and I can't..:headache: It's really strange because last year I burned at least 100 photo CD's and that burner never launched and interfered..:confused3

Windows Movie Maker. It's probably already one your computer. I came across it on mine by surprise one day. It's easy to use.

It depends how detailed you want to get. and how many photos. I tried to make one and the program would not let me do more than 100 pictures.

lately I needed to make a slideshow for the 40th anniversary of a local theater group. that would leave me with only 2 pictures per year!

I posted the same question a few weeks ago on the DIS Photo Board.

most of the techies over there recommended proshow gold. I found it for $70

It is very easy to use and also very easy to add titles and sound and transition effects between slides. Also veyr easy to set the time for each slide.

there is a link in that thread to the photodex proshow gold site

When you create this and put it on dvd/cd...will it play in regular dvd players?

Yes! I was going to recommend this, too. It's super, super basic and veeeery user friendly. Perfect for someone just learning to edit. I made a video for my class when I taught pre-school and made a DVD for each of the parents.

I also made on online at One True Media (click on the picture of Belle and my niece in my sig to see it). You can order a DVD from them, but after being able to burn my own, it seems silly to buy one. Some family members purchased them from the site, though.

Have fun! I love making videos about out trips. Reliving the memories is great!:goodvibes
