I want to go on a cruise so bad I have resorted to watching the Love Boat TV series

I watch The Love Boat because it is jaw-droppingly terrible. C-List guest stars, story lines created by total hacks, and a ship's doctor who overtly hits on female passengers...what's not to like? :earboy2:

A few years back Mr. MacSpiff and I came across a channel that was airing Love Boat reruns after dinner, and we swore a misguided pact to watch every evening until Charo made an appearance. We figured it wouldn't take long -- I mean, when we watched the show in prime time as kids it seemed like she was in every other episode -- but it took MONTHS. I was never so happy to see Charo in my life. :D

In spite of that, I confess: yes, OP, I've watched a few episodes recently.

I've seen Charo in the past couple of weeks, this passed for entertainment back in the day.

They used to show re-runs every day at 1000 am and it was my motivation to get out of bed during the summer as a pre-teen/teen. Pretty sad now that I reflect back on it! 🙂 But hey, as the theme song said, it was always “exciting and new...”

Has any body else done this?
My wife and I were lucky. We left on a cruise February 29th 2020 returning Marchl 7th. One week later the cruise industry shut down.
So far we have had two cruises canceled. We are hoping to go on one before the end of the year but till then I am watching the Love Boat.
Any one Else?
Thank you for making me laugh!!! I think I should find some old reruns of this show too!!!

If that was the Fantasy we were on that same cruise! Where are you getting the Love Boat episodes from? I know the Paramount streaming service has it but I don't need another service to pay monthly. .:)

We have done multiple seven day Disney cruises over the years and we love them. We usually go on two cruises a year, one in the spring and one in the fall/winter. My wife and I decided to try a different cruise line so we tried NCL otherwise we would have been on the Disney Fantasy the end of April. We were across from you at Port Canaveral on the Breakaway.

The love Boat is on one of our local broadcast stations we get on out antenna.

This was our view from the Breakaway

Hahaha...too funny. We have resorted to watching Disney ride videos on the tv ( from our trips or other peoples', we are not picky)and pretend we are on the rides, shouting and yippeeing included!!🤷🏼‍♀️ or we pretend to walk up Main Street with everybody else. Whatever it takes to get us through to the next trip!

We did a cruise around Great Britain in 1998 on The Pacific Princess. Our excursion to Edinburg was to a showing of the Military Tattoo at the castle there. What a wonderful experience that was! Princess Cruise line is our favorite after DCL.

Our last cruise was in Feb 2020 on Princess, and we did watch The Love Boat series in our cabin.
@bobbiwoz, Princess is our favorite after DCL as well, especially the Royal Class ships...

We watch the love boat on Pluto tv. It is free but has ads like old fashioned tv.

LOL! Your comment made me laugh! Can you imagine in today's climate? The Ship's Doctor, bartender, cruise director, Captain having affairs with all the passengers on every cruise?

I need a reality show on a cruise ship.
I’ve never been on one but if I see other people doing it, I might go.
I want to see the good bad and ugly first not just vlogs of nice sunsets and buffets.

Well, if you look at some crew members postings and books, YES I can imagine it happening in today's climate.

Yes, I watch the Love Boat, although it is very far removed from my "reality" of cruising. I did see Charo perform on our very first DCL cruise, a WBTA.

I watch Dream Cruises, though they never have DCL cruises.

I asked for and got H20 products for Christmas, so I take a shower and use the shampoo and body wash and close my eyes and breath in the smell and imagine I am taking a shower on a DCL cruise.

I look at photos from past cruises and obsessively plan future cruises (I have 4 DCLs booked, down from 7 because of cancellations and trying to be realistic).
