"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

I'm back!! Love the hair!! And you MUST eat at Starring Rolls--soo yummy!! I had the chocolate/peanut butter cupcake and it was sooooo good!!! HS isn't our favorite park either but we did LOVE Fantasmic!! Awesome show!!

We're not really doing much tomorrow except spending time together as a family--Brent has off from work!!

It sounds like you had a nice day, aside from the wake of course. I had to go to one of those myself last week. :sad2:

Your hair looks cute! I have very curly hair and struggle a lot with it at times. I've been straightening it lately and need a change.

Yesterday WAS super hot! Sorry about the wake:hug:
DBF and I don't have plans today-- both of our offices are closed, so we're probably just going to hang out at home. Maybe go get ice cream or stop in to see his parents. Relaxed kind of day! Have fun at your bbq!

Hey!! Sounds like you had a mostly great weekend-wakes are never fun, but I bet it was nice to meet more members of Tony's extended family.

Did you end up going to the pool? I am just dying to go but haven't found the time yet!! I need to get on that!!

My weekend consisted of iceblocking (so. much. FUN!), having a "magical princess sleepover" and going to the zoo! There was also an excessive amount of Disney Channel watching for a 20 year old! :rotfl2:

Hey Meghan! Sounds like you're having a great weekend aside from the wake :( I'm sorry for your loss!

Today's beautiful here too! I don't know if I've told you this before but I have an uncle and cousin that live up in Rochester, probably not too far from you guys. He was down here for the weekend and just headed back home today. He said the weather was great when he got home :thumbsup2 Hope you enjoy the rest of your MDW!

Yea! I can't wait to hear all about your trip. I tried my best to follow you on FB, but it's been hectic around here. I adore anything with chocolate and peanut butter, so I'll be sure to check that out! Glad to hear you liked Fantasmic. I really hope we get to see it in Sept.

Don't you just love lazy days?!

Ohh I love Olive Garden!! Glad you got to spend some girl time with your daughter :goodvibes

Olive Garden is fantastic. I could survive off their salad and breadsticks forever.

It's been a wonderful weekend. The weather has been nice...a little hot, but nice.

Thanks! Now that I cut it, it has gotten even curlier. I really hope to keep it like this for a long time.

Yesterday was a scorcher for sure. We didn't really stay at the wake too long. Tony doesn't really know his great aunts and uncles very well, so it was a bit awkward.

Sounds like you've had a very relaxing day. Those are always very well needed around here!

It was a great weekend. We were only at the wake for about half an hour, so it wasn't so bad. I actually never met his great aunt who had passed away and Tony only met her a few times.

We went over to my sister's house today and Tony & Madison were in and out of the pool all day. I only went in up to my waist, but it felt great. I did manage to hit the hot tub after the sun went behind the clouds. It was very relaxing. We're supposed to get some rain tonight, so hopefully that will cool things off a bit and get rid of a bunch of the cottonwood around here (don't know if you have it out in Colorado, but it really kicks up the sinuses/allergies for me and Tony).

What exactly is ice blocking? Ooo....I like the sound of a magical princess sleepover!!!

It's been a fantastic weekend!

How cool! Rochester is only about an hour or so away from us. Madison usually goes to a feis out there and I always make a trip with my dance team once a year. Roch and Buffalo are huge rivals in the National Lacrosse League!

Hey Meghan!!

I LOVE your new hair!!! It looks fabulous! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 One of our favourite treats from Starring Rolls at DHS was the fresh fruit tart - it was very yummy!! You can see a picture of it on my TR HERE it's near the bottom of the page!! It is below a picture of the massive cupcake and the cinnamon bun.

One of our other favourite things to do is find the streetmosphere characters!! They are a hoot! Alberto Dante and Bucky Greenwood are 2 of our faves!

If MAddy is wearing a birthday button, Sunset Boulevard is a good place to be spotted and perhaps get a special birthday phone call!! ;)

Thanks Kim! I love my new haircut too. I remember that fruit tart fro2m your TR. It was HUGE and looked so yummy! We'll be sure to make a stop at Starring Rolls for sure.

We did happen to see 2 streetmosphere people in June, but we caught the tale end of them. They were so funny!

Madison will definately be wearing a birthday button. I'm hoping Tony will wear an anniversary pin with me too (On Sept 9th, we'll be celebrating 10 years of being together. Our wedding anniversary is in April). We also have the "I'm Celebrating" pins from last years trips.

I'm glad it stil managed to be a good weekend!! The pool sounds so nice, even if you didn't go in all the way! And I just looove hot tubs! They are so relaxing!! Oh we have tons of cottonwoods around here too! Luckily I'm not allergic! But I hope that rain came and helps get rid of it so you and Tony can not have to worry about it when you go outside!

If you go to King Soopers, you can buy a big chunk of ice. Like literally a brick of ice (bigger than a brick though). Then you fold up a towel on it and ride it down a hill!! It's SO fun!! I highly recommend it! It's a good work out too, because you have to take the ice back up the hill! :rotfl:

I put up pics of the magical princess sleepover on my ptr! There's not a lot though, there's more on my fb if you want to check it out! It's so fun! We just dressed up and took pics and watched Enchanted and Cinderella!

My mom is from Rochester and she gets so excited whenever she hears anyone talk about it! :rotfl2:

Love your new haircut! Perfect for keeping cool this summer.

Your DHS must do list includes a couple things that are going to be on mine (whenever we go back) I'm already looking forward to your TR so I can see what you think of Fantasmic. We were supposed to go last year the same night as you and didn't because of the rain. I was really surprised they didn't cancel it! It was pouring!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! How was the pool and hot tub?

The cottonwood really stinks! It was supposed to rain today, but it didn't. I had to run to Target before work this morning and buy some Mucinex. I was up all night trying to cough this junk out of my lungs! My voice is non-existent especially after working a register for 4 hours and talking to all the customers. Maybe I should bring a bullhorn to dress rehersal tomorrow night!

Oh my goodness! I'd pay money to see people slide down a hill on a block of ice!!! I've never heard of anyone doing that before! :rotfl: It sounds like a blast!

I'll be sure to go check out pics of your sleepover. I love princesses! :goodvibes "Enchanted" is such a great movie!

Yea!!! Does your mom still have family in Rochester?

Sounds like you had a great weekend! How was the pool and hot tub?

Thanks! It really has been great having my hair this short with the hot weather lately. It's so easy to take care of.

I REALLY hope we get to see Fantastmic. We've never seen it and I always hear such wonderful things about it. I can't believe they didn't cancel the show last Jan. The rain was really coming down!

The pool and hot tub were great. Tony and Madison spent most of the day in the pool. I didn't go all the way in, but the water really cooled me off. The hot tub felt great on my sore back (it's always sore) but it was too hot to stay in there for long. Plus, my sister and BIL had tons of chlorine in it and it was making me cough!

I saw that show in January 2009 in the rain!!! UGH! I remember bumping into you before that!

adorable hair cut! Did you get a caramel color highlight?

DHS: What order do you try to do things in at DHS? That is the park I am thinking I am going to have the hardest time deciding on how to best approach it. Are you a fan of the cupcakes at the Starring Rolls?

I hope you had a fantastic holiday weekend. :goodvibes:

Thanks! Yes, I did get caramel colored highlights!! I love them!

If I were arriving at DHS at Rope Drop, I would follow the herd to TSMM. I usually get in line for the FP's and then we get in the standby line together as a family. After we ride TSMM, we usually go wherever we want!!! In the past, we've gone over to RNRC so Tony and I can use the single rider line. Once our FP window has begun, we grab FP's for ToT. Besides those attractions, we don't really have a plan. We kind of wander and figure out what we want to do. But, in Sept, we're not doing any mornings at DHS. Thank goodness for our GAD FP's!

I had a fabulous weekend! :goodvibes

I love your haircut, it looks great!

That shirt with the doves is so so so cute!

DHS isn't our favorite park either, we'll be skipping all EMH there too. If it wasn't for TSM, I would probably skip it completely.

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't cut my hair sooner!

I love that shirt too. It's a light color and it's a lightweight material. It should be perfect to wear to Disney in Sept!

I used to love going to DHS as a kid and that was before TSMM, RNRC and ToT. I don't know why I liked it so much because there isn't a whole heck of a lot of stuff to do there. I was only 7 when it opened, but I didn't go to the Studios until I was 9. Maybe I just liked the new-ness of it? I haven't been on the Backlot Tour since they changed it and I'm sure I won't like it. I used to love going by the Golden Girls house!

GRRRRR....I had a whole update typed out and was ready to post it and it all just disappeared!!!!! Ever since we got this new hard drive, some of the keys on the keyboard have been acting strange. So annoying!!!!

Hello everyone!!!! Well, today is one of the busiest days of the year for me....DRESS REHERSAL!!!! We start promptly at 4pm and we run the show from start to finish. Well, almost. We do a big finale at the end of the show and the teachers always start it off. After we dance, everyone in the studio comes on stage and we do some simple steps and a group bow. Instead of running the finale at the end of the night, we do it during "intermission". That way, if you're only in the 2nd half of the recital, you can come at 6pm instead of 4pm. We always run the finale twice because we have 2 shows. Everyone is in both shows except for the real little ones. Dress rehersal is always a long and exhausting day, but I enjoy watching all of the other dances I've never seen. I'm sure that what's left of my voice will be long gone by the end of the night!

Ok, enough about dance. On with the must do lists!

AK

-FOTLK - What an amazing show! We saw it in Jan 09 and I fell in love with it. I wanted to be a part of it SO badly!
-KS - We always have to ride first thing in the morning.
-EE - AMAZING! Tony and I usually take turns in the single rider line, but Madison says she wants to try it. I guess we'll be getting FP's!
-Dinosaur- Madison really liked this back in June...except she didn't like the fact I covered her eyes when the scary dino comes out (and takes your pic).
-Trails - If it's not too hot, we'd like to walk the trails again. We loved seeing all of the animals in Jan 09, but even then it was super hot.
-Nemo - Not really a must do...we'd rather see FOTLK

I'd really like to try a frozen cappuccino. They sound wonderful and I'm sure it will be hot enough for one! We'd also like to eat at Flame Tree. I've heard mixed reviews, but I LOVE bbq!!!!

It's not really much of a list and I'm sure we can accomplish it. We'll be hitting up PM EMH at AK on our arrival night. They run from 5-8pm, so it definately won't be a late night for us. I wonder how dark it will be? We've never been at AK past 3pm, so this will be new for us. We will also do AM EMH later on in our trip. I'm thinking 2 half days are plenty for us.
