"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

I don't know if Madison needs anything but her birth certificate to cross the border. But, I might be mistaken. I need to read up on the whole border crossing thing again. I'm leaning towards a regular passport or the passport card.

Maybe not, I only know what the people at UB's law library told DH, and they said that the kids needed passport cards. :confused3 Crossing the border just stresses me out...I want them to greet me with big "welcome home!" signs, not the evil eye and searching my car. Is that asking too much? :lmao:

yep...we're awesome!!!:rotfl: The only bad thing about it is that it's sooo humid and miserable here by the time it rolls around I don't really want to do anything....Mike gets off easy for that! No trips or anything like that for my bday! The year we graduated, my family went to WDW the week of my bday *Note...this is usually the hottest week in the south* ...the lines were unbelievable and the heat almost killed us! We came home the night before my bday...so I spent the end of 17 at Disney!! That was great...but I will never do that again! For some reason they didn't plan our trips at all...just pack and leave...perhaps this has led to my planning obsession!!

The end of July is pretty hot around here too, but Tony LIVES for the heat!! My mom is a big Disney fan, but I don't remember her planning trips like I do. Back when I was little, you really didn't need a touring plan. When I was little, there was only MK and Epcot!!

Don't tell me the last week in July is the hottest!!!!! I'm trying to think positive so I don't melt. Now I'm positive I will melt!

You'll be fine. :goodvibes I've been at the end of July and I've been in August. We survived! Just be sure to plan in some breaks and wear lightweight, light colored clothing. Lots of sunscreen and water!!! Make sure to use your EMH and FP's wisely! :thumbsup2

I will definately have to research it. I hate crossing the border too. We haven't been to Canada in quite some time. I would like to be welcomed home too (just like Disney). We're the least suspicious looking people in the world who drive a normal car.

Forgot to add this earlier, but it's ok because I have more wonderful news. :goodvibes

I don't know if I've said this before, but Tony has become a bit of a gym rat. He doesn't go to one of those big name gyms or anything, but he's been going quite regularly.(he wasn't overweight or anything, he just wanted to be healthier) He also started eating better (he already eats better than me to begin with...I'm a junk food maniac). For example: for breakfast, he used to eat a bagel and coffee. He now eats oatmeal and drinks green tea. He stopped drinking soda (yes, they call it pop in Buffalo, but I'm from Syracuse and we say soda) too. He's been taking vitamins and he loves those DanActive yogurt "shots". I must say, they're not too bad (I've had a few). Anyways...he weighed himself the other day and he's lost 20 pounds!!!! Needless to say, most of his clothes are now way too big on him. He's going to need new pairs of work pants, jeans, shorts...it's crazy! I bought him a new pair of shorts today and they're even a little big on him! He's going to have to go down ANOTHER size! He tried on all of his shorts from last year today and he doesn't even need to unbutton them to take them off. He couldn't believe it. I'm so proud of him!

So, today was our anniversary. Like I said, I bought him some new shorts and some other things from ON today (I'm a procrastinator). Plus, we're saying that his concert ticket he bought a week or so ago is part of his gift. When he got home from class tonight, he had a card and a single rose for me (what can I say, I married a sweetie). He also said I can go by myself a new VB hipster tomorrow!!! :woohoo: He said he didn't want to mess it up so it's better that I go by it myself. I can't really picture him walking into the store and picking out the exact bag that I want. My VB bag is also going to be part of my Mother's Day gift. :goodvibes It's been such a great day!

Before I end my rambling session, I have one more little thing. I went to Kohl's today to buy my mom a frame for Mother's Day and while I was looking, I noticed they had those removable wall quotes. I've always wanted one for our room, but they never have the one that I want. Well, today they did!!!! I actually bought 2, but I only managed to get one of them on our wall today. I bought the ones that say "Always kiss me goodnight" and "All because two people fell in love..." So cute!!!

First - Happy Anniversary!

Wow, you have a busy summer. You've got me beat!

I love the wall quotes you got. And hooray for getting the new VB! And congrats to your hubby!

Don't tell me the last week in July is the hottest!!!!! I'm trying to think positive so I don't melt. Now I'm positive I will melt!

Sorry:rolleyes1
Just don't be out in the direct heat from around 12to 2-3...unless you have plenty of water or maybe you are around the pool....You dehydrate a lot faster than you realize. that's the best time of day to plan to go back to the room and rest..if you are planning a resort break...or a long long lunch!!!! I know when I am super hot like that tho, I can't eat much...drink, yes, but not eating heavily. Try to not do cokes either...they actually remove even more water from your system!!!

Meghan...that is great that he lost all that weight!!!! Mike is gonna be jealous!!! He has started laying off the carbs again...he just feels crummy if he eats too many...and he has been going to the gym here and there...their vacation got him off track. And how sweet that he got you a surprise & you get your purse!!!!! Tell me again which pattern and bag you are getting...

Wow, that's a lot of good news for one post!

Congrats to Tony! Nothing feels better than having to buy smaller clothes!

Sounds like a great anniversary! You'll have to post pictures of your VB hipster when you get it!

Those wall quotes sound really cute!

It will be a busy summer but I great one. I'm really excited for my cousin's wedding in Annapolis. She's getting married on the beach!!! I've never been to Maryland and I've never been to a wedding on the beach! :goodvibes I love the wall quotes too. They are so cute! I can't wait to go buy my new VB.

I had to come out of lurkom..LOL..I love the wall quotes too! I have the "Always kiss me goodnight" too! I love them!

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom!!! I love the way the quotes look on the wall. So different!

Sorry

Isn't it wonderful!!! When he tried on his shorts last night, he really couldn't believe it. I think one pair of shorts fits him ok...they used to be a wee bit tight. I will post a pic of my new VB, but I plan on getting the hipster in Call Me Coral. It's a great print for summer!

It is a lot of good news. Last year at ON, we had a huge Men's sale in the weeks leading up to Father's Day. It was 50% off EVERYTHING in Men's! It was great. Plus, I got my discount on top of that. So....we got 75% off!

I will post a pic of my new VB once I go get it. I had lots of :laundy: to do today, so it's going to have to wait awhile. I also have to teach dance tonight, so I have to get my stuff ready for that too. I should probably go grocery shopping too....ah!

Hi meghan, I'm all caught up!

loved all your purchases, totally agree about the no t-shirts in the heat, i just feel so much free-er in tank tops...but then it seems so much harder to find dsiney tanks!

Your so lucky getting so much discount in Old Navy and Gap!

Sad to hear you have to finish with the Bandettes, I know a girl who danced for about 6 months after she got pregnant, she disn't seem too worried but everyone else at the feis was like :scared1:

Thank you. It is hard to find Disney tanks....so I kind of gave up! I love the discount I get at ON and Gap. It will really stink when I don't work there anymore. It's hard to think about not dancing with my team anymore. It's been so much fun! When I was pregnant with Madison, I was still a dance major at the University at Buffalo. I was only 3 months pregnant by the time the semester was over, but I took a ton of dance classes. I didn't dance at all over the summer, but I did teach dance for a month in the fall. I was due October 8th and I taught up right until then!!! I couldn't bend over or demonstrate very well, but that's what assistant teachers are for! :rotfl:

Wow, that is one busy summer lady! What's great about it is that it's going to fly by and your trip will be here before you know it. That's what is awesome about planning trips in the fall. Summers always fly by! :thumbsup2

My 10 year reunion is coming up too. Ours is actually in July but they're having it 4-7. Early bird reunion? I don't know if I'm going to go, I'm undecided. The price they're asking is a little steep for 3 hours!

Congrats to Tony! :woohoo: Love the wall quotes, especially 'always kiss me goodnight.' :)

Congrats to your husband on his weight loss!! I hear that it's easier for men to lose than women. LOL!! Love the wall quotes you bought. I just ordered one for my repainted kitchen that says "A pinch of patience...a dash of kindness...a spoonful of laughter and a heap of love". :)

Aw! I have the always kiss me goodnight in our room too! That's my number 1 rule at our house. When DH bartends or plays and comes home at 3 or 4am I still make him kiss me and if I'm sleeping I'll ask him in the morning if he did :)

What a great present from DH! Have fun picking out your purse!

I do not believe children need a passport card or passport 'yet' to cross the borders. A passport is on my list of things to get too but everytime I think of spending the $200 for DH and I I always think of better things to spend that money on. Leaving the country isn't on the top of my list right now anyway.

Go Tony for getting healthy!! I'm sure he feels great-- there's nothing like getting fit and just FEELING light and good.
Love the wall hangings! I'm trying to wear DBF down so I can hang my "inspirational" quotes in the living room-- he's not a fan, but I think I'm wearing him down.
I absolutely LOVE the VB hipster-- I don't usually use it as a purse, but I need a summer bag, so I think I might pull out my Capri Bluet hipster that's usually just for travel. Do you think you're going to get one of the new patterns?? I love Color me coral and make me blush!

We have the "all because two people..." thing too! I love it!

It's so cute!

Yup, this summer is going to be crazy but lots of fun. Disney will be here before you know it!

A 3-hour reunion? Wow. That seems strange. I hope you have a lot of fun!

Isn't that wall quote the greatest? It's so sweet! I LOVE my new purse! I'm going to post a picture soon.

I really don't want to shell out the $ to get a passport either. I'd rather spend my money on other things too.

Tony feels great! I hope this will help me start eating healthier.

The VB hipster is the best! I got Call Me Coral!!!

Ok, so here is my new VB purchase!!!

011-2.jpg

I LOVE it! The coral color is SO pretty and the pattern just makes me think of summer. I was in the store forever because I always have to look at everything. I really wanted to get the Euro Wallet too, but they didn't have the color I wanted. I could actually really use a new glasses case, so maybe I'll put it on my VB wishlist. I want back and forth for a long time between the hipster and the mailbag. The mailbag is a bit roomier and has lots more pockets. However, once I put it over my shoulder, I knew it would be too big for Disney. I don't really carry that much and I feel like it would bother me too much to constantly open up that big flap on it. It would be great as just a regular purse though.

I have one more picture for you. I was at Target yesterday (I'm there about 4 times a week) and I was only there to get some Mother's Day cards and wrapping paper. Well, I happened to stroll through the girl's department and came across this:

Why, hello tank top for Madison to wear to AK!!!! They have a bunch of different clothing in this pattern...a halter dress, some shorts, etc. I showed it to Madison and she loves it too. I'm now trying to plan out her outfits for Disney and it's a bit trickier. I'll have to wait out the summer and make sure that everything still fits her in Sept!

Tony is loving the whole weight loss thing. I love my wall quotes!

Yeah, it's at a hotel so I guess they rented out one of the conference rooms or bars for a few hours. I just don't understand why it's so early! I feel like it's an early bird special or something. :rotfl:

Love the pattern you got for the hipster! And that top is too cute. :)

I'm in LOVE with Call Me Coral!!! It's so me. I love all things leopard and that tank was too cute to pass up. It's an appropriate leopard for a 7 year old.

Our reunion is a restaurant/bar and it's actually where our post-game parties are held. It has 4 floors and the upper 3 floors have outdoor patios. Those probably won't be in use in late-November. They also have a basement bar. They have great food and the atmosphere is great. We couldn't hold it over the summer because it's all booked up with weddings and other reunions! We're also having a happy hour at a different bar Friday night and a tour of the high schoool Saturday afternoon. They've remodeled about 90% of the school since we graduated and it looks so different. I won't be going on the tour because I'm at the HS all the time. My mom works there (she's the athletic director's secretary and no, she didn't work there when I was in school) and that is where our dance recital is held.
