"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

The free QSDP is just a pin for the time being, so no such luck. I will have to keep waiting it out with everyone else.

Just read a new rumor/speculation that FD WILL be released. The date being thrown around is May 3rd. I read that there will be less room inventory but the booking window will be longer. That doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but oh well.

:woohoo: You're right, it doesn't make much sense, but it's still FD!

At the end of last week, Disney tweaked their Sept hours. Originally, on Sept 25th (a Sat), the MK was supposed to be open until 11pm. It wasn't an EMH night, it was just a super late night I guess. Now, MK will be closing at 7pm that night and there is no Spectro or Wishes. I'm guessing it will now be a MNSSHP. MK is also closing at 7pm on the 23rd when it was originally open until 8pm (I think). I'm guessing it's another MNSSHP. So......there are now 3 MNSSHP's during our trip. The new closing times have no effect on my plans, but it did get me thinking. Should we try to go to MNSSHP on the 23rd (our 2nd night) instead of the 28th (our last night)??? I would have to move around some ADR's and some other plans. Of course, just when I get everything set in stone, Disney goes and changes things. :rotfl:

You're lucky. The time change on the 25th was not good for my plans! I was really wanting those EMH at MK on the 25th. We're planning to go to MNSSHP on the 28th too. The last 2 years we've gone on our last night there and I really liked that. Kind of a real magical ending to the trip. However, I wanted to see Fantasmic and for the schedule to work, MNSSHP for us will be earlier in our trip this year.

Exactly!

Actually, the 25th wasn't an EMH night. MK just had a scheduled closing time of 11pm. I thought that was pretty weird since it's value season. That's what time MK usually closes during the summer months!!! I am looking forward to MNSSHP being our final night of vacation. I'm so excited that I get to see Wishes and Hallowishes on this trip! I've heard such wonderful things about the party.

Meghan, do you have ideas for costumes for MNSSHP? Will the whole family dress up? I can't remember if you shared that yet or not.

I'm hoping there will be a bounceback offer when we go in a few weeks. I'd actually rather have a room discount than Free Dining but I'll take what I can get. Not in my cards to get a PIN this year that I can use!

I do have costume ideas! I keep asking my DH if he's going to dress up or not and he won't give me an answer. He really isn't into the whole costume thing. But, I have 5 months to talk him into it!!! I want us all to have the same theme:

#1-DH as Captain Hook, Me as Wendy, Madison as Tink
#2-DH as Mad Hatter, Me as Queen of Hearts or Cheshire Cat, Madison as Alice
#3-Original Mouseketeers; White t-shirts with our names on them, pleated skirts for Maddie and I and shorts for Tony

I think out of all my ideas, Tony would probably opt for the 3rd option. I'm REALLY hoping there will be a bounceback offer in our room in Sept!!! I would LOVE to go again next year. :goodvibes

I think we should totally plan a Buffalo DIS meet!!!! There are quite a few of us and it could be a lot of fun.

I like option 3! What a cute idea!! I like the idea of ending the trip with MNSSHP but I cannot remember your flight schedule but I believe it is a later flight? If so, I would say keep it the same so you do not have to shuffle ADRs. :goodvibes

Hi everyone!!! Since I have no trip updates, I thought I'd post some items I've purchased recently. I usually start buying Spring/Summer clothes as soon as they come out (at ON, we started getting Spring clothing after Christmas!). Now that I have a trip planned, it's time to start figuring out what to wear. Yes, I know that our trip is 5 months away, but who cares? :rotfl: I should probably give a bit of a back story, so please bear with me and then I'll show you my purchases.

For our Jan 2009 trip, we wore a lot of Disney tanks and tees (except for my DH who wore Buffalo Sabres and Bills shirts almost everyday). Makes sense, right? Disney trip = Disney apparel. While planning that trip, I became a part of the Jan 2009 thread (aka the Snowbirds). I won't mention who it was, but there was a lovely woman around my age who took her Disney fashion quite seriously. Her outfits matched where she was going/eating and I loved it!!! Why buy Disney tees (which I love) when I had plenty of cute clothes in my closet already that I could wear on trips.

Fast forward to around this time last year. I was then planning my June 2009 trip and I was determined to look cute everyday. Yes, it would be nearly 90 degrees everyday, but that's no excuse. I made sure to look for lightweight, loose fitting tops (such as empire waisted "babydoll" tops). NO T-SHIRTS!!! They are too clingy and I hate wearing sleeves in the heat. I even found shirts that would "match" where we'd be on certain days. I was even planning out Madison's outfits like that too. For example: on our AK day, we each wore yellow printed halter tops. They TOTALLY fit into the AK motif! Some of my outfits got switched around though. We had originally planned to eat breakfast at Kona and Cape May Cafe, but then a few days before we left, I managed to get into Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier. So, the shirt I had intended to wear to Kona became the shirt I wore on our first day (my birthday) and the Cape May shirt (which would have fit in perfectly with the BC) became the shirt I wore to Le Cellier. Anyways....feel free to look at pics from my last TR. (Before you think I'm loony....no, I did not change my shirt for park hopping. The shirt kind of "matched" the park we hit up in the morning.)

Ok, onto the recent purchases. Not all of these are for the trip (especially Madison's clothes). I have a very bad habit of buying every single cute piece of clothing I see for Maddie. It doesn't help that I work at Old Navy...where I get 25% off everything at ON and 50% off at Gap, Gap Kids and Banana Republic (I never shop at Banana). We usually have quite a few cute things at ON, but Gap Kids is where I can go nuts. I've also gotten her many cute things at Kohl's lately. Without further delay, here are some pics!

MADISON'S CLOTHES
001-2.jpg

I don't know if any of these bottoms will be making the trip with us. I guess it all depends on the weather forecast. If it's super hot, we'll just be bringing regular shorts, not capris or bermudas. Anyways...the denim capris and khaki bermudas are from ON and the brown bermudas are from Kohl's.

002-4.jpg

Again, I don't know if these will be brought on the trip, but they're cute! The shirt on the left is from Kohl's (to go with the brown bermudas) and the other 2 are from ON.

003-4.jpg

This shirt is from Kohl's and I think it's what Maddie will wear to 'Ohana (also departure day).

004-4.jpg

Here's a close-up. Isn't it cute? I'm sure she'll want to wear it over the summer, but I want it to stay nice for the trip.

MY CLOTHES
005-4.jpg

The tank on the left is from ON and the other is from American Eagle. I really want to wear the leopard tank to AK, I just have to find something to wear with it. I tried it on with khaki shorts and I looked like a tour guide!!!

006-4.jpg

Yes, these are the same exact shirt with different prints. I couldn't help it! They're from Aeropostale and I got a great deal on them. They were originally $24.50/shirt (no way!). They were on sale for $15 AND I had a 30% off coupon!!!! I'll be bringing both of them, but I don't know where each one will be worn yet. Any suggestions?

007-3.jpg

I guess I'm into yellow right now! :rotfl: The one on the left and in the middle are from Aeropostale and the one on the right is from ON. I bought the one in the middle for my June trip. It was the one I was going to wear to Cape May (it's so BC isn't it!), but I wore it to Le Cellier. I only wore it for one photopass pic, so I'm thinking that I can wear it again in Sept. The yellow shirt on the left is REALLY long and it looks funny with bermuda shorts (2 long things paired together look weird). It looks great with jeans though!

008-3.jpg

These dresses are FABULOUS!! They are from Target and they were only $15 each. (can you tell I like to buy things in twos?) I wore the coral one on Easter with a little white cardigan. I plan on bringing both of them. Yes, I'm going to wear a dress to WDW. They are SO comfy and lightweight. So much better than shorts and a tank.

009-3.jpg

Both of these dresses are from ON, but I'm not bringing the one on the left. I just wanted to show it to all of you! :goodvibes I'm probably going to wear it to my cousin's bridal shower in a couple of weeks. It's so comfy and I love the bright colors. The one on the right is a dress, but works better as a swim cover-up. I also bought 2 last year-one is black and the other is black with huge white flowers on it.

So there you have it! I LOVE planning out what to wear on each day. It's just as much fun for me as planning out park days and ADR's!

I agree, I think it's best to go out with a bang and end with MNSSHP!

I do think it will be the perfect ending for our trip. We'll have a lot of candy to take home! :rotfl2:

I like option 3! What a cute idea!! I like the idea of ending the trip with MNSSHP but I cannot remember your flight schedule but I believe it is a later flight? If so, I would say keep it the same so you do not have to shuffle ADRs. :goodvibes

Thanks! It's definately the easiet costume and it won't be too hot. I do have plenty of time to figure it out though. I'm going to stick with our plans and leave MNSSHP for our last night. We don't leave the next day until after 6pm, so we won't need to catch our ME bus until 3ish. We have a 9am ADR at 'Ohana our last day, and then we'll probably go to Epcot for a bit. Get a last right on Soarin' or TT...or maybe relax around WS.

Wow! Lots of new purchases! :) I did the same thing for my PTR last year! :rotfl: I like your idea of 'matching' things to the restaurants and parks. I would never have the patience for that though!! I love Maddie's Hula Girl shirt, that is too cute. And I love the tops you got from Aero!! You could probably wear the orange one w/the flower to Ohana. Fits in well with the theme there :)

I should clarify that I did not buy all those things on the same day!!! :rotfl: As soon as I saw the hula girl shirt at Kohl's, I immediately though of 'Ohana. I was thinking about the orange shirt with the flower for 'Ohana as well. I hate picking out clothes each morning, so planning them out makes me less stressed. I can just wake up and know what I'm wearing that day. It also helps me cut down on overpacking. For our Jan trip (which was 8 days/7nights), I think I brought at least 12-15 shirts!!! When I don't plan out my clothes, I MUST have options. :goodvibes

Love the clothes!!!
That dress you plan to wear to the bridal shower is so pretty!
I am trying to tone up my arms to look good in tank tops this summer! I know it will be hot when we're there.

Thanks! I love sundresses, but I end up not wearing them very often. I'd really like to start wearing them more. Tank tops are a MUST for summer trips to WDW. It's just too hot for t-shirts.

Love the clothes!

I think the palm tree on the one tank kinda "screams" Hollywood - so if you have a DHS day, you could wear it then.

I am with you on dresses. I wore dresses in the parks a couple of times the last trip. I think they are easier to deal with and much cooler.

Thanks!!! I think the palm tree tank would definately work for DHS. We actually don't have any mornings planned there (gasp! We'll probably use our GAD FP's at DHS one day), but I can rock the palm tree tank all day in anticipation. :rotfl: Glad to hear that others wear dresses at WDW. A few of my friends have and they say it's super comfy.

Cute Clothes! I'm going to have to look in ON. We are also going in September, never been that time of the year, always in July. Everyone keeps telling me its still hot bring tank tops and shorts.

:):):)

I love your clothes!! And I tell you what...it is so dang hot here...little sundresses w/jacket (for church or cold restaurants) or billowy skirts and shirts are so much cooler than shorts!!!!!
I reeeeeeaallly like Madi's Hula shirt!!

Fun shopping purchases! As soon as I saw that leopard print tank I thought of AK. As for some of the rest, I think they can easily be used for park hopping. Some of them look ambiguous enough that you they could work for two different parks. They all look super cute and comfy. I like to dress my little gal in disney themed apparel, but I tend to wear my normal clothes. I wasn't able to plan out my outfits for each day because it was just so hot in August! I always love seeing other people plan out their outfits though in the PTRs.
