I want to get Dreamed! How do I get Dreamed?

Nope, the Dream Team is in all of the parks. I don't think there are any strategies to make it happen. They just show up and hand out prizes and you never know when or where it will happen. We didn't spend a lot of time thinking about it on our trip. Some people get very disappointed when they don't get anything. I found it easier to ignore the whole thing. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, who cares? I got a trip to Disneyworld. We did end up getting special seating for the Christmas parade from a Dream Team member. He just walked up and asked if we'd like to sit in the VIP section and he led us there. It was nice, but we certainly didn't expect it.

Exactly, it's just random

In 07, my DS7 and I got the YOAMD laynard and pin sets
Last month in July, we got sort of a little dream

We did Splash MNT early in the day, and while we were checking out our picture afterward, a CM named Melissa asked if we wanted to ride again, without the wait!
She led us back to were you unload and told the other CM"S to let us ride again
It was very cool :thumbsup2

We had another moment, whie eating our Dole WHips in the rain
where a DT member stopped to chat with my boys, she sprinkled them with pixie dust :wizard: and gave them some pirate gold, she spent about 20 minutes chatting with them

So, even if you dont win "big" dreams, the everyday little magic that they
make happen are wonderful
Enjoy your trip!

A computer spits out who will win what prize (i.e. the first person on the third row of it's tough to be a bug or whoever is sitting on this bench, etc.) there is no way to increase your chance. I agree that's is better to look for the specail little magic that Disney is know for! And don't waste time trying to win something. Good Luck!

Although the process for winning a dream is completely random there are some tips to help increase your odds.

1. Get to the parks early. Most dreams are handed out between 9:00AM and 1:00PM. Fastpasses, lanyards with pins, and dream hats are the most common. The castle suite winners will be chosen between 9:30 and 12:30.

2. Many dreams are handed out at the beginning or end of ride attractions. Some small capacity shows and walk-through attraction (Pangea Forest Trail) can be dream venues. Large show venues (Nemo show at AK) are usually not places where dreams get awarded.

3. Don't waste your time in the morning. Jump from attraction to attraction as soon as you can to increase your odds.

4. Try not to eat breakfast, or snack in the park between 9:00AM and 1:00PM. I have heard of some guests getting free snacks at snack carts at the time they purchased them from the Dream Squad, but I think it's rare and not worth the time.

Good luck and have a wonderful trip!

Good heavens! Why on earth not?

Have you ever had to call an ambulance for a Guest who passed out due to either low blood sugar or dehydration from not eating and running from attraction to attraction in a desperate bid to "see everything?" I have. Spending hours in Celebration Hospital will surely put a damper on your Disney day.

I should also point out that the Castle Suite prize may be awarded anywhere in the parks -- not exclusively at the attractions. I've heard several people have won some of the big prizes simply by sitting on a bench at the right time. And any prize may be won at any time during operating hours.

Long story short: you never know when the Dream Squad might approach you!

When will the year end? Does anyone know if anything special is planned for 09?

I was given the dreams fast passes getting off of Splash Mountain, which was my first or second ride of the morning (I was there when the gates opened). I ended up only able to use 2-3 of the fast passes and gave the remaining ones to a slightly older couple on my way out. They were thrilled!

Nope. More often than not it gets awarded quite a bit later.

This has nothing to do with the Disney Dreams Giveaway, or the Dream Squad... those are magical moments done by the restaurant cast members.

Yes, I would also like to know when do they stop giving away "Dreams". Is it through the end of the year. We are there in Nov 08' hope it is still going on!

Really? How on earth would the winners get back to their room, pack a bag for the overnight stay, and make it to the 3:00PM Magic Kingdom parade? That is why you will not find the suite awarded after 12:30.

Good heavens! Why on earth not?

I would never suggest doing this if you couldn't handle it. My suggestion was merely telling the op how to increase their chances of winning a dream. Everyone knows their tollerances and should use their discretion; however, eating during the time when most of the dreams are distrubuted will decrease your chances. :)

The Year of a Million Dreams promotion ends on 12/31/08. The Dream Squad is no more on 1/3/09. Let's hope they decide to bring this promotion back someday.

I watched the castle suite be given to a family at about 4pm one day, ride outside of el pirata. it can happen.

We just got back after being at Disney for two weeks. We got dream fastpasses twice during our stay. Both times it was between 10-11am. The first time it was in MK getting off WTP and the second was on the Pangani Trail in AK.

I would never recommend "trying" to be in the right place at the right time, it will never happen. There are too many spots they could be in at any one time. Your odds aren't too good.

The Dream Squad drives them to their hotel, and the concierge picks them up and takes them to the castle. The Parade is Optional, not everyone does it, it is at the sole discretion of the sponsor. Please do not say things that are not true, thats how all this mess about stalking the Dream Squad and rumors about only family's of 4 winning get started.

So, what you are saying from your previous post and this post is that most of the suite winners do not appear in the parade? Interesting.

I guess I was just trying to help the op out with her question based on statistics and personal experiences. Like any contest your odds can be increased by making better decisions. I guess I don't see what is wrong with that in this situation. My choice of words probably wasn't very good in this case. Instead of saying "will get awarded" I should have said "usually gets awarded" or something like that.

You maybe a Dream Squad member, not sure? If you are, I really appreciate what you do and thanks for spreading the Disney magic! :wizard:

I don't think they said "most" suite winners do not appear in the parade. But rather it is optional. Some nights the castle stay is awarded later in the day. As far as increasing ones odds-the best way to do that is spend time in the parks.

Very interesting thread!

We also got DFPs while walking on the Pangani Trail in AK, so I might have to have us walk through it again next trip. I might have thought about skipping it. LOL.

It also sounds like going to "One Man's Dream" at DHS earlier in the day.

Not that I'll plan everything or each day around this stuff, nor will I obsess about getting a DFP, but this stuff *could* up our chances, right? ;)
