i want to donate a maclaren major

hi, we are travelling from the uk with an old but fully functional maclaren major special needs stroller. We will use it in the parks but due to my daughter getting a brand new wheelchair last month and already having a newer major as a spare we have no longer any use for this one. We are taking it to WDW for my other daughter to use for the long days but she doesn't use a stroller at home. I don't want to bring it home again but would hate to just abandon it as it was such a god send to us once and i know people are desperate for these sometimes. Does anyone know a way of donating it somewhere at the end of our holiday? I thought maybe to a wish child or the gktw village? Anyone any ideas?

I would say please, please, please take it to GKTW. I'm sure they would be more than happy to have it! Their website info is www.givekidstheworld.com. I'm debating right now whether my dd will fit into one of the Disney strollers, when she's really not big enough to be comfy in a wheelchair when she goes on her wish trip in March, and I'm sure I'm not the only parent that's gone through that.

I was also going to suggest contacting Give Kids the World. If they can't accept it, they probably are aware of an agency that could.

Wow what a great idea. I also have one that is sitting in storage since my son has outgrown it. Ours is in good shape since I used in only in disney. I am going to email them and see if they can use it. I am going down in a few weeks and can bring it with me and drop it off. I even have the hood that goes with it. Michelle

If you do not donate the hood I would love to get it. I have a major buggy for my son but no hood. He is a red head, freckle face so I am going to have to buy one. Let me know if you want to part with it.

we are going to disney 2/12 to 2/19. With have 3 kids and our oldest (mattie 10 years old) is not able to walk long distances. We have never gone to Disney before, and usually we bring a running stroller for him but he is getting too big (he is 80lbs now). We were looking into this type of thing to rent but it's pretty expensive. We would love to be able to borrow this stroller during our trip and donate after if you would like. This is a great idea. I also have a used McClaren Major stroller that is in pretty good shape that my DS is too big for now. We use an adult sized travel chair for him now. When we go down to WDW this summer I think we will take the McClaren with us and give it to GKTW.

i hate to beg you but im am begging, im a mom of a severly physically limited cerebral palsey child. her name is brianna. i have been trying to purchase a maclaren major strollers for a long time with no success. i cant afford to by one. my daughter is 8 shes very cute shes allittle slow but absolutely adorable. loves tinkerbell
i was wondering if you were allready considering donating the stroller away, would you please consider donating istead to my family.
its very hard to transport her wheel chair because its very heavy and bulkey it hardly fits in my car and we have two other children one is 14 and the other is 3 so were on a budget.
this stroller would make my life so much easier. it would be such a god send. we tried to buy a standard light weight stroller for shopping and short outings but brianna is too long.
i live in so fl so i would be willing to pick it up from you in orlando or pay for shipping. thankyou so much for your time.

If anyone else has a special needs stroller they would be interested in donating or selling I am also interested. My 9-year old will be going on a wish trip this spring (yay!) and we had a maclaren stroller but it was taken out of our front yard! That will teach me to leave it outside! Anyway, we would love to have a stroller to use again. Thank you!!

I have a maclaren that needs some repair. My ds was too heavy towards the end so one of the bottom bars bent. I know someone who is handy can fix this. If anyone has need and is willing to repair please contact me. I will get back to you soon as I am at johns Hopkins with oldest dd.
