"I want my soup!" An October 2010 Trip Report UPDATED 7/9 2012 PTR STARTED!

Sounds like another great day!! That's awesome that you'll be done at 4 and have the rest of the day off! Are any of the parks open late? I know if you're anything like me your mind might be dragging but the adrenaline will keep you going!! :lmao: And I can't to hear about the food at DL! Have you researched any yummy places to eat?!?!

Yes, the parks are open pretty late! DCA until 10 and Disneyland Park until midnight! :woohoo: I'll be incoherent due to lack of sleep and jet lag but I don't care! I looked at a couple counter service places. There's a place I want to try in New Orleans Square (the name escapes me right now) that serves jambalaya yum! And in DCA there's a place called Pacific Wharf Cafe that overlooks the little waterfront area and serves sandwiches and soups in bread bowls. Sounds pretty yum to me!

4/10 - Day 4

My last day at Disneyland :(

Early morning yet again. We check out, bright and early, between 7-7:30 am. From 7:30-9 we have what they call a 'working breakfast.' I guess we'll have a seminar wrap up as breakfast is going on.

At 9, we board a bus to Los Angeles to tour and have lunch....

ABOARD THE DISNEY WONDER!

It will be so cool to see it docked somewhere other than Orlando. Though I wonder how that cruise terminal could possibly compare. Guess I'll find out! I wonder where we're having lunch. Fingers crossed it's at Animator's Palate!

After the ship tour & lunch...we're done! Everyone will board a bus to LAX or SNA. I informed them that I will be staying for the night (the only flight I could get that night was a red-eye, no thank you) so they are arranging alternate transportation to get me back to the resort. I'm sure there will be others doing this as well so I won't be alone on the ride back. I wanted to stay at Paradise Pier again for the night but their travel agent rate was $203! :scared1: I orginally had a room booked at the Anaheim Marriott ($74 TA rate) but it didn't seem too close to the parks. I wanted to be within easy walking distance. So after looking around a bit, I found a $76 AAA rate at the Alpine Inn. http://www.alpineinnanaheim.com It's not a luxurious hotel but the reviews on tripadvisor were great and you can't really beat the price for the location. It's right around the corner from the main entrance.

I'm wondering if the Disneyland people will drop me off right at the motel or at the resort itself. It's not a long walk but with a suitcase in tow...not really feelin it ya know? No biggie either way though.

So I should be getting back to the Anaheim area around 3-3:30. I'll check-in, maybe take a quick nap, freshen up, and head back to the parks! :)

My flight the next morning is SUPER early, 7:45. I was going to take the Disneyland Resort Express bus back to the airport but it doesn't start running until 6 (not 24 hours! What?? :scared1: ). The airport is about a half hour ride so that's cutting it close, especially if it runs slow or late. So I think I'm going to reserve with Super Shuttle. They'll pick you up right at the door of your hotel and the pickup time when I looked was between 5:15-5:30 am. Plenty of time. And they're only $10!

I'm so excited for this trip! :)

Now, what to wear??? :scratchin

Sounds like a good (and busy) last day! :thumbsup2
I can't believe the rate for Paradise Pier! And that is crazy about no MME whenever you need it. :confused3

I can't wait to read your TR about Disneyland! I know it's smaller that WDW, but it'll be cool to think about where all the magic began. :cloud9:

And yes, we need to discuss wardrobe!! You have the task of being comfy/cute but also looking somewhat professional, right? Can't wait to see what you come up with! popcorn::

That's sooo nice that you get an extra half day to yourself! I've heard great things about the Aladdin show, I'm sure it'll be amazing. I'd LOVE if they replaced VOTLM with that (although I know the former needs a huge theater).
Touring the Wonder is going to be AMAZING! I can't wait to see pictures!!

I know, the Paradise Pier rate is nuts! Disneyland needs some value resorts :rotfl:

I was looking at the map of Disneyland Park and just thinking 'this looks wrong.' I have a feeling I'm going to be wandering around the wrong areas looking for rides that should be there if I were in Magic Kingdom!

Yes, we have to be 'business casual.' I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like. It looks like it's in the 70s right now but cooler at night. I'll figure it out once it starts getting closer and I'll post pictures! :)

Yes, I hear the Aladdin show is supposed to be phenomenal. Like Broadway caliber.

I've sailed on the Wonder before. It'll be nice to see it without a thousand people milling around it!

Day 3:Park Day! Yay! I can't wait to hear what Aladdin the Musical is like! I've never heard of it but I bet it will be fantastic!

Boo to the Disneyland Vacation Package. :(

Another day with free time! That's fantastic! Definitely a park day for you!

Day 4:HOORAY FOR THE WONDER!

I really hope lunch is at the Animator's too! What a fun place. I always cross my fingers when we get our rotation on the ship that we get to hit the Animator's Palate twice (the first night and the last morning).

Too bad about Paradise Pier. That rate is outrageous. I'm glad you found something close to the park and that's a great price!

I hope they drop you off!! It's not fun lugging your suitcase around. :(

I'm so excited for you! I cannot wait to see the outfit posts.. Time to go shopping!!

PS. Have you and Kris gone apartment hunting yet?

Aladdin is supposed to be amazing! I've heard nothing but great things about it.

I hope they drop me off too. It's a short walk but I don't really want to be pulling a suitcase 10-15 minutes down the street. Unless I can somehow get my luggage over there earlier. :confused3

Hmmm..may not be able to go shopping. I'm laying off my loft card a little bit. :rotfl:

Not yet. We're waiting until closer to summer so we have more money saved. Plus it'll be nice & warm when we make everyone help us move ;)

:lmao: Smart girl!

So since it's been a tradition of my last two Disney trips to get a Vera Bradley bag for the occasion, I decided why not get one in honor for my trip to Disneyland? The Maggie was on sale and I got it in Night & Day :)

I needed a new bag for spring anyway ;)

Super cute!! I love it. The Maggie is a great bag! I saw the sale but DH hid our credit card.... I guess I don't really need another VB.

Yours is adorable. Great buy!!

OMG! I LOVE that bag!!!!! Did you find it online?!

Yes, on their website! It's on sale til March 23.

It's a similar style to the bag I'm using now but I like the pattern. It's spring/summery but still black & white to match everything. And I can use it with the VB wallet Kris got me for Valentine's Day :) Can't wait til I get it! at Jackson hiding the cc!! That's what I used :rolleyes1

My VB bag arrived today! It's super cute, I love it. It's similar to the bag I have now but a little bit bigger inside. Big enough to fit the VB wallet Kris gave me as part of my Valentine's Day gift. The pictures from the site are posting super small but it's the turn lock wallet in Blue Lagoon. My VB collection is growing! ;)

Kris & I went to a hibachi steakhouse for dinner on Saturday (yum!) and on the way home, I wanted to stop at the mall because Old Navy was having one of their one day sales. This time it was tank dresses for $9 each! They're usually $19.50 apiece. So I got two:

I think I'm going to take one to CA, probably the print, and pair it with a cardigan & sandals as one of my 'business casual' outfits. I've been looking at the weather for Anaheim and it's been in the upper 60s/low 70s. It'll be fine for the day but I think I need to bring warmer clothes for night!

I leave in 22 days!!! :)

I can't believe you leave in 22 days! So exciting!!

And I just love the dresses! I can't believe I missed the Old Navy sale! Such great dresses. How do you find out about their sales? Email sign-up?

I think the print dress with a cardigan would be perfect for business casual. The weather sounds like it will be absolutely gorgeous but definitely a little chilly at night.

Glad to hear hibachi was fun! I've never been to one although everyone I know raves about them. I guess I need to get my butt to one!

Are you guys doing anything for St. Patrick's Day??

As always, love the shopping updates! :woohoo:

20 days now! :)

I saw a commercial for it and then happened to see it on facebook too. They advertise it maybe a week in advance, if that. I thought I had a white cardigan but I must've gotten rid of it when I went through my clothes last. Guess another trip to Old Navy is in order cause I saw a really cute one when I was there getting the dresses! :rotfl:

You should try hibachi! I love that the chefs put on a show for you while you watch your food being cooked. Try the one in Disney! :) I hear they make Mickey heads out of the onions.

Nope, no plans for St. Pat's. I worked in an Irish restaurant for almost 6 years. I think I'm over St. Patrick's Day. :rotfl:

CUTE dresses!! I went to Old Navy the other day and those dresses weren't on sale, bummer! :guilty:

Can't believe you're so close to leaving!

JENNY!!!!:

Apparently it's out!! :dancer:

PS. Miss your updates!

I KNOW!!!! It arrived in the mail on Thursday :) My mom pre-ordered it for me as part of my Christmas gift. I'm waiting to read it until I'm on the plane.

I was on vacation this week and at Kris's place for most of it so I haven't been posting much. I am going to post tomorrow or Tuesday :) One more before I leave on Thursday, so excited!

Hello! Can you believe I leave on Thursday???

I was off all last week and considering I'm leaving for CA so soon, coming back to work today didn't suck as bad as it should have lol. Kris and I celebrated our one year anniversary on March 30. I can't believe it's been a year already! We went to the Poconos and stayed at the Mount Airy Resort & Casino. We got a great mid-week rate for $99/nt plus free buffet passes for 2 days :) The hotel was beautiful but I wish they had a pool. How can you be a 4 Diamond resort with no pool of any kind?? :sad2: It was a weird season to go and most of the attractions had just closed (ski stuff) or weren't open for the summer yet but we still had fun. We're planning on returning during the summer, possibly for Kris's birthday. The rest of the week we didn't do much except go out to dinner with his parents and went to Medieval Times. Our knight lost :(

So I checked the weather for Anaheim and it looks like it's going to be in the upper 60s/low 70s. Not bad but it dips into the upper 40s at night. Brrrr. I'll have to bundle up walking around the parks then. I already have most of my things packed and I took pictures of the 'business casual' outfits for you guys. For the nights, I just packed jeans, tshirts, & hoodies with my Uggs since we'll be on our own most nights.

Day 1 Outfit - won't be wearing this on the plane. Comfy outfit for that but this will be the outfit for the Disney hotel tours, dinner, and trade show. I wear my Uggs to work so I figured they'd be considered business casual ;)

Disneyland001.jpg

Everything looks a little dis-colored in these pictures. Also, that top is actually a dress and looks super cute over leggings :)

Day 2 - Breakfast with Mickey & Friends and Good Neighbor Hotel inspections all day. EIGHT of them. Ugh. They're not the most exciting things in the world. Seriously, if you've seen one Fairfield Inn, you've seen them all. We wrap that up at 3:15 and then have free time until 8:15, where we'll meet for World of Color. I think I can be in my jeans and hoody gear then since we're just meeting for the show. I will also be wearing my Uggs this day! :)

Day 3 - Park Day! We'll have a quick breakfast & then experience Disneyland Park and California Adventure. I'm especially looking forward to Aladdin, A Musical Spectacular! this day. After the parks, we'll have lunch and a seminar and we're done at 4!

Disneyland003.jpg

Those pants are gaucho style. So comfy!

Day 4 - Early morning seminar and then we're off to see the Disney Wonder! Done by 2 pm, fam is over, and I'm on my own until the next day when I leave!

Disneyland004.jpg

So cruise-y, don't ya think? ;)

I think I should be ok. Those outfits will be fine during the day since it will be fairly warm (I'm sure the locals will think I'm nuts and say it's freezing). I think I'll be ok at the night. It'll be cold but not TOO cold. Not like Jersey anyway.

I'm so excited!

Also, I've started writing for examiner.com as a Disney Travel consultant. If you guys wanna take a look, check it out! Examiner
