I want an ipad,should I settle for kindle fire?

Neither will most iPads. I don't have that issue and I have the new one.

Same here. I use mine to surf, play games and watch movies - sometimes for hours at a time - and it's never gotten more than slightly warm to the touch.

Another vote for refurb ipad 2! If you already have an ipod touch or iphone, many of your apps will carry over to you ipad.

Buy a Refurbished ipad2 from the Apple.com ... they just went down in price last week = $319.00 + tax ... if there are not any available when you check ... wait a few days and try again ... they will be in stock.

I am just seeing the IPAD 1 for $349 and iPad 2 for $399. Did they go back up in price? I want to get dh one for his bday next month.
