"I Wanna See My Castle!" October 2013 TR *COMPLETE* **NEW TR LINK!!** 7/3

Paxton's pictures keep getting better and better! Well, except for the ones when he had the son in his eyes and could see a blasted thing. Poor little guy.

How nice of you to sacrifice your TSM score to help Paxton. :thumbsup2

Those Buzz and Woody pics are such a flash back for me. Brian was Paxton's age when the first Toy story movie was released and he absolutely LOVED Woody. I see that all over again when I see P's pictures.

I know that you are going to come up with a great option on what to do next!

Oh my goodness the pictures with Donal and Daisy are too funny, poor guy that sun looks intense!

I'm glad DS enjoyed TSM with his own gun, I love that ride!

Awesome interaction with Woody and Buzz, all the pictures are so awesome!

I love love love the photo with Lightening McQueen! So awesome! He really does look like a cool dude!

Oh my goodness, that's such a fantastic photo of Paxton with Lightning McQueen. :goodvibes He looks like he just hanging out with one of his buddies, no big deal. :rotfl:

Great character interaction with Woody and Buzz. It's nice to see they took their time and did a few different things with Paxton.

You know, it's occurred to me that I have yet to meet the "Hollywood" versions of the Fab 5. That's just wrong.

Aww, nothing worse than setting up for a picture only to have the sun right in your eyes. I guess the characters must be used to it since it never seems to affect them at all. :scratchin

God, I haven't met Buzz or Woody either. Oy!! On the bright side DS sure does look like he's warming to the characters quite a bit. My goodness, what an outstanding interaction.

HAHAHAHA, yes, that is an AWESOME pose with Lightning. :thumbsup2

This was the first time meeting the Hollywood Donald & Daisy despite trying on two previous trips. So yay, victory! Still never met Minnie in her Hollywood getup, but on our last trip we saw Goofy and Chip & Dale out by the hat looking dapper.

That's so true! Their eyes are always nice and wide! :lmao:

Buzz & Woody was one of the more fun interactions, although DS did that zoning out thing again when it came time for pictures. And when Buzz was leading him around, I don't think he really knew what he was supposed to be doing. But he definitely enjoyed meeting them & hugging them! A tip for meeting Buzz & Woody is that their line gets long quick so it's best to do early in the morning!

I LOVE that picture of him with his idol!

Daisy and Donald look so cute in their hollywood outfits! That picture of Paxton with them is so cute eventhough the sun was in his eyes.

In that picture of you pushing the stroller towards the hat it looks like everyone is walking super fast!

So all of the parks open the turnstiles up 15 minutes before park opening? I didn't know that!

Everyone was definitely walking fast! But it's still better because the turnstiles help slow down the influx of people instead of the old way of letting everyone in first and then having everyone running in the same direction! Epcot, DHS, and AK all generally open the turnstiles about 15-20 minutes early now to accomplish this. I was sad that they did away with the opening shows, but it beats joining the stampede towards TSM or Soarin'!

I'm glad DS had fun on Toy Story Mania!

I love all the pictures from your meet with Buzz and Woody, but my favorite is the one where he is holding both of their hands.

That stinks that they lost the rest of your pictures from the meet :(

What a cool dude Paxton is! I love the picture of him with Lightening McQueen!

Hollywood Studios is such a tough park, we have had that problem many times - what to do?!

I was bummed about the Phineas & Ferb pictures! At least DH was good about getting a couple of pictures, I would have hated to have none at all!

DHS was definitely toughest on DS's first trip when he was too small for the rides and no attention span for the shows. Now that we can add shows into the mix, it's a bit easier. And for our family that loves meeting characters, this is the park for us! But occasionally when the show times just don't add up, we can still find ourselves circling around looking for something to do.

Paxton's pictures keep getting better and better! Well, except for the ones when he had the son in his eyes and could see a blasted thing. Poor little guy.

How nice of you to sacrifice your TSM score to help Paxton. :thumbsup2

I know that you are going to come up with a great option on what to do next!

That was probably the worst spot they could have picked for a character meet! The sunlight was directly on that spot. But DS was still excited to see those ducks.

Aw, so sweet about Toy Story! :goodvibes It's so funny how different Disney movies can really help us pinpoint certain times in our lives. I remember when Toy Story came out, we all went to see it in theaters as a family because my dad was SO fascinated with the idea of a movie made completely on computers! Seeing it as a kid and then experiencing Toy Story 3 as an adult with my own kid, just made it more emotional because those movies were part of my childhood and now I get to share them with my own son!

He definitely enjoyed getting to play this time around instead of just being a passenger! :thumbsup2

Buzz & Woody was a great meet. He loves those toys! Lately now he has been on a big Toy Story kick and wanting to watch it all the time. Funny how a movie that came out when I was a kid can still be so relevant and entertaining now to my own kid!

One of my favorite pics of him from this trip. :goodvibes

:rotfl: Exactly!! I need to get that one framed for his room.

With a meet as popular as Buzz & Woody I think it would be very easy for them to just shove kids through without much interaction to keep the line moving. I was very impressed that they were exactly the opposite and spent a good time playing around with all the kids that went in to meet them!

I love all the character pictures in this update! So so cute. :) Ya know, I find myself wondering where I should go next in DHS a lot! Since there are so many shows with set times, it can be harder to figure out what your next stop should be.

Hi, brand-new reader! :wave2: I came over from MEK's trip report. There is too much to comment on, since I'm behind, :rotfl: but suffice it to say, looks like a great trip so far! Your little boy is just darling.

And yay for an unexpected Disney trip! I will also be there that same weekend, doing the Expedition Everest 5K.

Can't wait to read more!

Thanks!

DHS can be a hard park to navigate with all those shows and conflicting times schedules. But for some reason, we still just love it!

:welcome: And thank you very much. :goodvibes

Very cool! I got a little nervous when I saw there was a 5K that weekend, but I'm hoping it doesn't amp up the crowd levels too much. If you see us, please say hi! We will be at DHS all day Saturday and MK all day Sunday.

First of all.... shout out to DDuck4life for those amazing Illuminations photos. Just awesome! We've seen the same fireworks show but my pathetic attempt to capture it leaves people wondering just what I viewed!! :lmao:

I've heard of the 3D Dessert Party but had no clue what it actually was. So many options. Come hungry huh? That bacon crumbles version of the cupcake has me very curious to try one somewhere!

Ha ha! turn around and there's MEK again! How perfect.

How fun to watch Illuminations with the 3D glasses. Such a unique experience.

What an awesome thumbs up pose with Lightening! Paxton couldn't be any cuter in that photo.

Curious to see which character is up next since it looks like a fork in the road so to speak.

Yay for meeting Donald & Daisy before the park opened, but poor DS in the sun!

DS looks so cute all ready for TSM!

The pics with Buzz & Woody are the cutest, it looks like DS got some great interaction with them!

The picture does not do what you really see through the glasses justice.
Ok... It looks like the picture was taken at 4:38. And judging from the darkness, likely AM. Part of me wants to thank you for taking a picture to show us the effect. Another part of me is worried about the fact that you were not only awake at 4:38, but actually took the time to think about, and take a picture for those of us on the DIS. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

They signed DS's autograph book, but unfortunately when it came time to smile for the camera, the sun was brutally beating down right on them. DS said cheese and tried to smile, but the poor kid could barely get his eyes open!
Poor guy! Still a good picture though!

Well, DS didn't quite understand what to do, but he had fun anyway. And I sacrificed my own scoring potential to help him rack up a few hundred more points than he would have gotten on his own. But he definitely still had a blast on the ride!
:thumbsup2 Great! And as he figures out how to aim and shoot the cannon, I'm sure he'll love it more all the time.

The wait for Buzz & Woody was not long at all, but that didn't stop DS from wanting to stop for all of the photo ops throughout the queue.
He looks like he's having a blast, so might as well go with it! :thumbsup2

After their pictures, they each got one more hug for the road.
Woody and Buzz look like they were a lot of fun. Just when you think the character pictures can't get any better...

DS was asking to see them again and he had a Lightning McQueen shirt on and there was no line, so we figured why not? Good thing, because I got one of my absolute favorite photos of the whole trip this time!
That is definitely a cool kid. :thumbsup2

But once we got back inside, we found a HUGE group wearing matching shirts had joined the line, and all of the switchbacks were being used!!
 :crazy2: :faint:
They weren't chanting anything in Portuguese, by chance, were they?

I love the outfits that the characters wear at DHS! They're just so cute!

You could live in the middle of Disney with $50 bzilion dollars. That's what I would do. :lmao:

That stinks PP couldn't find your lost photos. I experienced lost photos the first time ever on this last trip. Thankfully, they were able to locate them, but that really stinks.

Still reading along and love your prompt updates. Maybe I should spend more time updating my report and less time reading others reports! :)

The dessert party looked like a lot of fun and a perfect date night activity!

OK...so call me cruel but the pictures with DS and Donald/Daisy were too cute! Seriously, though, I think the 2nd one kind of gives the appearance that he is shunning away the paparazzi! LOL.

Love the super cool Lightening McQueen pose!

On our last WDW trip we too lost our pictures from the Phineas and Ferb meet. This was in 2012 but they did a show before they came out and DH was in it. The photopass guy assured me he was getting pictures so I took ONE (and it was terrible). They were all lost. Maybe they stick new photopass people there?

I am only partially caught up but a couple of things before I forget! I know you missed out on Camp Minnie Mickey, Russel and Dug but the memory of DS digging in the boneyard will definitely stay with you for longer!

What a great DHS afteroon/evening! LOVE love love the "frame" picture and holy characters! Super fun update. Even with the grumpy face pictures :goodvibes

Great interactions with all of the characters! Really liked how Woody and Buzz took him around the "room". Oh, and those pictures of DS with Donald and Daisy came out cute although poor guy with the sun in his eyes. Actually if you didn't know that he was shielding his eyes from the sun on the second pic, you could put a caption of him thinking "Oy, still no pants on Donald. I can't look". :rotfl: Is it just me or the more they dress up Donald on his upper half the more you notice that he's not wearing pants? ;)

Our DS was the same with TSMM. Even though he had a little difficulty maneuvering the canon, he still loved having his own. :thumbsup2

Just joining in now. I'm all caught up and can't wait to read more. I really appreciate all the great photos!

Looks and sounds like such great meet and greets! I can't wait to have an autograph book like that for my kiddies. I think it's such a great souvenir, much better than the one sold in all the stores with blank pages.

Love the Cars photo with DS's thumbs up and feet! It was captured at the perfect moment.

Thanks for the compliments on the photos! DH was pretty happy with them.

I definitely packed my appetite before that party! :rotfl: I think DH was regretting those chicken nuggets and fries by the time we got to the party.

That picture of Paxton is one of my favorites from the whole trip! He just loves Lightning McQueen!

Yay for meeting Donald & Daisy before the park opened, but poor DS in the sun!

Yeah, the sun was so brutal in that spot. But he was sure excited to meet those ducks anyway.

Buzz & Woody were a fun meet! Definitely one of the better ones, as we found later in the trip we had some not so great character interactions.

It was taken in the afternoon. He would have gotten a swift kick in the you know what taking pictures of the alarm clock at 4:30 am! I mean, I love my TR readers and all and want to document every experience, but not THAT much!! We have awesome curtains that block most of the sunlight from getting in the room for when we actually used to sleep in on our days off/weekends.

Poor guy! Still a good picture though!

He tried so hard to get his eyes open! Despite the closed eyes, he still made sure to say cheese and look in the correct general direction.

:thumbsup2 Great! And as he figures out how to aim and shoot the cannon, I'm sure he'll love it more all the time.

Definitely. I'm not even sure he understood that it was a game at all or how the cannon and screens were connected. We'll see in May if he gets it a little more or not.

He looks like he's having a blast, so might as well go with it! :thumbsup2

Woody and Buzz look like they were a lot of fun. Just when you think the character pictures can't get any better...

It was a great meet! Lots of interaction, which is more than can be said for some of the characters we meet later in the trip.

That is definitely a cool kid. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

 :crazy2: :faint:
They weren't chanting anything in Portuguese, by chance, were they?

Thankfully we saw NONE of those kinds of groups!! It looked like a large group of special needs individuals and their caregivers. So I won't begrudge them their meet, but I wasn't excited about standing all behind them either!!

I do love that they have the characters dressed for the parks they are in. DHS are some of my favorite Fab 5 costumes!

Heck yes!!! That's a FANTASTIC idea!!

We got so many cards over the course of the trip because we kept leaving them in the stroller. I did remember to take pictures of all of the numbers, but I lost track of one of the pictures. :confused3 So I thought I had a bunch missing, but I think I just forgot to put in one of my numbers. The P&F photos were the only ones they didn't recover though, so that was good at least. But it still sucks, especially when it's one of the meets where we didn't take a lot with our own camera.

Yep, sorry Bart, but $50 bzillion could get me all the Disney Dooney bags I want.

I love all the photo ops in line for Woody and Buzz! They're so fun. DS looks adorable.

Oh man, what a bummer about the Phineas and Ferb PP photos!

YEAH for the thumbs up! :thumbsup2

I have been so busy lately taking on all the extra shifts at work to pay for our May trip that I have a hard time balancing reading & updating myself!!

:rotfl: It does look like that in the second picture. I couldn't help laughing even as it was happening, but I did feel bad for him too.

Oh gosh! Maybe it's bad photographers there or they put the funky cameras out there to see if they work or not. :confused3

Oh, definitely! He was SO excited, and I know digging in the boneyard will be part of our AK visits from now on until he outgrows it. It was worth missing the characters for, for sure!

:goodvibes Thanks! I love the frame photo too!

Great interactions with all of the characters! Really liked how Woody and Buzz took him around the "room". Oh, and those pictures of DS with Donald and Daisy came out cute although poor guy with the sun in his eyes. It's almost like a caption contest with that Donald/Daisy photo!! :lmao: Love seeing everyone's different interpretation.

He definitely enjoyed it more getting his own seat and cannon. We'll see in May if he is a little better at aiming & shooting!

Just joining in now. I'm all caught up and can't wait to read more. I really appreciate all the great photos!

Welcome!! Thanks so much for joining in and complimenting the photos. DH did an awesome job!

It's really fun to do with kids, and even more fun to pull the books out and go through them again while we are at home and need a Disney World fix. :goodvibes

Definitely was! He was so excited about meeting Lightning that the pose just kind of came out!

:thumbsup2

Okay, living in the middle of Disney World with the $50 bzilion was a good idea, but the Disney Dooneys is another awesome one too!!

Thanks. That was a really great character interaction. So much fun meeting them together instead of meeting them separate in less detailed areas.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
