I have been working for this day for a long time. It's the first time in over 2 months that I haven't had to use crutches to walk a few steps. I guess that the physical therapy is working. :)

I was so happy that I came home from church and went into my closest to dust off my right shoe. I haven't worn two shoes in over 2 months either. I laced up that bad boy and hobbled around the kitchen for about half an hour.

I'm back off my feet and my right ankle is throbbing like crazy. But I don't care. Even though I resembled Frankenstein's monster when I was walking today, I was walking. If I felt any better, I'd do the happy dance. :)

Happy Sunday everyone.

Glad to hear you're making a good recovery! :D Just don't overdo it.

John, I am so very happy to hear this!!!!! I hope that all goes well, with the rest of your recovery.

Great job without the crutches

That's awesome :Pinkbounc . Just make sure you don't over do it.

Happy Dancing here for you!
Congrats. Hope it goes fast for you from here.

As someone who has suffered a similar injury to yours ( I have the screws and the scars to prove it ) I understand the need you felt to get up, move around and make sure everything still 'worked'. Now that you've satisfied that curiosity, feel free to let the healing process continue at its own pace. It may take a long time and it's OK to push....just don't push too hard. If you have a good orthopedic, listen to him....and do your therapy! That's the best advice I can give you. The rest is up to you. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the advice Brian. My physical therapist likes to remind me to "respect the pain". Believe me. I have no desire to go through this ordeal again.

Awesome John, but as one who has gone through this, be careful and don't overdo. The last thing you want is to fall again. Enjoy being able to walk again. I know I do.

You GO, John!!!

:cool1: - You'll be ready for Memorial Day and WDW in no time. But listen to your DIS friends (and your physical therapist :teeth: ) and just keep taking it one step at a time.

Krista

Way to go, just don't over do it.

Great progress! But like others have said, take it slow.

I like that "respect the pain" thing. I didn't do so at one time much to my big regret later. Not paying attention cost me many months of PT so it's a good lesson.
