Okay......I read the first 3 pages and I don't have the time to read all 10, but I was stunned at the amount of people that thought that the CB Board is "the dark side"

I have made so many friends here, that I can't imagine life w/o it Are we really that scary ?!?! I just refuse to believe it!!

See, I got scared over on the innocent Transportation Board!!! T&B has been telling me for years that the Community Board is the place to be, but I was too scared to venture over here......

In defense of the OP, the C-Board does have a very different character than it did a few years back. No comments from me on which is good, bad or indifferent, it's just 'changed'. I miss the way it used to be, too. But things evolve and the people who post here often seem to enjoy what it's become.

It's very hard not to want to make each board its own 'community' of people who post there often, but we've grown so big at the DIS that it simply isn't practical to have 'community' threads in with Theme Parks, Resorts, etc because the 'topic' threads get lost in the crowd. Tough call, sometimes. I do understand where the OP is coming from.

Not only am I a goddess, I have my very first TAG!!!! THANK YOU tag fairy!!! I guess the CB isn't so scary after all. I think I like it now. I think I'll hang out here more often. It's kinda nice not having to stay on topic all the time. I'm freeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

I used to feel the same way about the debate board before they shut it down. I used to post here under a different username and strayed over there a few times. The debate board scared the you know what out of me. You want nasty and vicious.... you should have seen those threads.

I had never ventured here... in fact, had never scrolled down far enough to find it until a few months ago when I followed a link that had been moved...

I think, as in every community, you have the neighbors that you like... but they are just "ok". Kinda like you can take them in small doses but wouldn't invite them to go to WDW with ya!

Then you have the neighbors that drink too much but are OH SO FUNNY to laugh at....

Then you have the neighbors that are your instant best friends. They get your sense of humor, you enjoy the same things and lifelong friendships are born.

Oh.... can't forget the one neighbor that seems to be in every neighborhood that just MUST

Except the Budget Board seems to be another community board IMHO! Half the things on there are OT.
