Well as said on previous posting i found the note book from our 3 week trip November 6-26th, 2002. I have never done trip reports before so if i waffle on too much please let me know
This was our third trip to Florida but the first time we had been for 3 weeks, we wanted an extended holiday so we could have more chill out time rather than coming back more tired than we went, also combined 10th anniversary and DHs 50th birthday celebration. My dh did not know i had upgraded to PE until we boarded, more on that later.
I am Alison now 38 and totally Disney mad, chief planner, map reader who gets blame even though not my fault.....
My DH is Dave now 51, mad about tigger, very good at getting us lost, blaming the map reader. Tshirt and Jean collector.....
On some days we did a lot of nothing so over the next few reports some days may be joined up with another.
Anyway let us begin with the day before departure.
Tuesday 5th November 2002.
I finnished work yesterday and spent the day double checking everything and giving the cats extra quality time. Dh came off his ship this morning at 7.30am and we took the 4 moggies to the cattery their home for the next 3 weeks, very good cattery and i am happy to leave them there, back home to finalise packing, say goodbye to my parents who live next door and have a light lunch.
We were picked up by a friend who took us to Gatwick, we arrived at about 4pm and walked over to the Virgin Twilight checkin desk. There were about 20 people in the queue but it was very quick and efficient. Picked up some visa waiver forms to fill in later to save doing them on the plane. After booking in we then got a taxi to the Cornerhouse B and B where we were staying overnight.
We checked in no problems and dropped our overnight bags in to the room before going down to have a meal, which was excellent, by this time it was 9.00pm and we thought we would have an early night but this was not to be. We got back to our room and realised it was positioned right over the bar area and the noise was getting louder and rowdier by the moment, i phoned down to the desk to be told they hadnt realised they had accepted a booking from a party of soldiers on their way to a reunion, to cut a story short basically i said we had booked to stay overnight to get a good night sleep etc and this obviously wasnt going to happen and we were VERY unhappy, luckily a family hadnt turned up and we got moved to a family suite located in the court yard peace and quite reigned. Roll on flight day.
