Hi there!

Is there anyway to retrieve I-Tunes info on a new computer? My laptop died and of course that's where I had done all my I-Tunes stuff. I know I can retrieve my purchased items on another computer, but is there a way to get back all of the CD's that I had loaded without re-doing them all? Really not looking forward to a day of uploading discs again. I am thinking that I read of a website where you could pay a fee and it uploaded directly from your Ipod.

HELP!! Thanks!!

Computer Tech here. Depending on what happened the files may be retrievable off your laptop's hard drive. If you tell me what happened and the type of laptop, I can try to make some suggestions/walk you through how to do it. I do not know of the site though unfortunately.

If the music is on your iPOD there are a couple of commercial software programs that you can use to transfer from the iPOD to a computer. I used Tansee with good success but there are numerous available. I'd suggest going to download.com or somewhere similar and reading the reviews.

If you have other things (pictures etc) on your HD you might want to pull it out and try to recover the files off of it. I have a cable that plugs into the HD and then into my USB port on a working computer.

I don't have any suggestions, just wishing you good luck! :goodvibes :wizard:
We were not able to retrieve ours when our computer died and DH had to reload hundreds of CDs. I had all my pictures backed up, but unfortunately not music. Now I am in the process of backing the re-loaded music onto an external hard drive.

There is hope. My daughter's hard drive crashed and died this summer. She didn't back up any of her Itunes. Luckily my son-in-law is a techie and he was able to take her hard drive out and retrieve 99% of her songs. None of these songs were from cds....all bought on Itunes and they wouldn't let her re download most of them.... From now on....back up your songs monthly onto a portable HD.

I use Poddox to get the music off my Ipod and back on to my Itunes library when my computer crashed.
