I have been reading several posts and stichkindom.com, but can't find my answer. I see a lot of Disers talking about cropping the pix to 4x6, 5x7, etc. before ordering the CD. I think I understand that you need to do this if you want to add the borders.

My question is, when you receive the CD, is there anything preventing you from downloading the pix to your computer? If I'm not adding boarders, I would prefer to do the cropping and other editing in my own software.

Thanks!

You can copy them to your computer and modify them. The only benefit (to my knowledge) of modifying them on the photopass site is adding Disney graphics.

You should recieve a CD Sale Agreement with your CD. It states that you own the intellectual property rights to the images contained on the CD. There is a lot more legalese on this agreement, but basically it gives you the right to copy and print these images.
People have discussed having issues with stores not allowing them to print these pics, but I usually put the pics I want to print on a thumb drive and I have had no problems. Bring the agreement with you just in case.
