I thought I was going to be arrested at the airport!

Oh, my! One of my co-workers asked me to give her a ride to the airport. When we get to the airport they pull my car over for an inspection. That is really no big deal. While my hubby was active duty we would have to get the car inspected before driving onto base. I also worked at a nuclear facility once and they would inspect our cars before letting through the gates.

Anyhow, they pull my car over to the inspection area and ask me to pop open the back (it’s a mini-van). At that instant I remembered that hubby had been skeet shooting with my brother-in-law and I have a box of shot-gun shells sitting there! I turn to my co-worker and say, “Uuuhhh, Christy, you may be late for your plane.” So, the inspector opens that back of the van, looks in, closes the back and says, “Have a nice day.” So much for inspections!

Now, I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if he had noticed the shells. Can they detain you for something like that?

I can't believe they didn't ask any questions. Did they see the box of shells? If they did, I'd think they would have looked for the gun they belong to. I don't know whether to feel sorry for you, the airport, the passengers, all of the above or breathe a sigh of relief.

I am guessing that he just did not notice them. I would have stopped me and asked questions!

That is very scarey that something like that passed through. I know it was an innocent think but after all that has gone on they should be allot more carefull. To bad the inspectors on the day of Sept 11 wern't just a little more attentive.

Oh my goodness that's kind of scary. I suppose shot gun shells and no weapon isn't considered dangerous?

They are looking for something else. Plus there is no law saying you can't have shot gun shells outside of the airport.
