I posted a thread a few days ago about not having my DVC dues and monthly maintenance fees deducted from my checking account. Since the 15th fell on a Saturday and the following Monday was MLK day, I figured on Tuesday my account would be updated. Well, as of today the money still wasn't deducted so I called Member Services. The woman I spoke too asked me right off the bat if I've filed for bankruptcy. :earseek: :earseek: Um, no I haven't, I work very hard to keep my excellent credit rating. She immediately put me on a conference call with a supevisor who said my account number must have been entered by mistake. D'oh!! She said the problem would be corrected and there would be no "penalties or flagging of my account" - my words, not hers. She was very nice and very helpful. After I hung up I continued to be bothered by this mistaken bankruptcy issue so I called my guide to ask about my recent add on to make sure those points were still being added. He said my account showed no mention of any problems and the points were still going through the closing phase. He said he would find out what happened and get back to me. I really don't want to get anyone in trouble and I wouldn't have followed up with my guide but it was really bothering me. The upshot is my guide said he would take care of me and I should stop by the next time I am in the area. Hmm, I just so happen to be going to Disney in a week.

I guess it pays to double check your account when things don't seem right.

Wow that is crazy I hope they get it all worked out for you. Our DVC stuff from Disney doesn't even show up on our credit bureau in Canada.

The credit info doesn't show up on my credit rating either but still it was a bit of a shock this morning.

wow! We have problems with my hubby's credit and his dad's getting mixed up (same name), but its always GOOD credit that gets on our report, etc.

I am glad you called them. Hope it is easily corrected!

I would check your credit report. DVC does not normally show up on credit reports so something else may be going on. Make sure no one is messing with your credit.

I was told by my guide, when I purchased, that DVC will never report to a credit agency unless the payments start being late. So as long as you're in good standing it won't show up.

That't too bad. They report if your bad, but not if your good. That just doesn't seem fair. IMHO

I think most people are happy that the $10K+ loan does not show up on their credit.

Good credit on your credit report can't hurt you as long as you have the income to support it. At least that's what I have been told by a financial planner from American Express. Now, if it were a credit card with $10K on it, and close to max, that would be a problem. At least that's the way I understood it.

It is probably a good time to double check your credit rating w/one of the agencies which handle that.
