I thought I had read it all

Now I HAVE read it all..................

Man..................I'm no Donald Trump, but 3/4 of my DIS-satisfaction comes from knowing that I saved a lot my hard earned $$$ so that my whole family can have anything they want (for the most part) when we arrive in orlando....................

Ha! thanks for making me smile with that link!
Sounds like the kind of question my sister in law would ask. She's so cheap she washes out ziploc baggies to use over and over...;)

There was another thread on the budget board recently about buying (or not) tickets for 3 year olds. It was the most heated and nasty thread I have ever read. Seems as though some people wil actually have their 3 year pretend to be 2 to get in for free. That would never work with our DS( he turns 3 midstay in Oct. luckily)..........he is way too smart for that.......plus I would never put him in that position.

Read the thread when I should have been doing work...what a nice break from reality. :)

Thank goodness for our DVC membership...it allows us to not worry about every penny and fret about every single little expense associated with going Home. This way, we have more time to quibble about important ethical discussions: "brush fire skirmishes" over room sizes, best resorts, and smoking/non-smoking. :cool2:

I had read that thread previously. And to be quite honest with you all. I had a different reaction.
GUILT!!! I thought it kind of sad. People have to go to such extremes in order to afford a Disney vacation.I know they don't have to go. But like me I am sure they enjoy taking thier children as well. I happen to be blessed and fortunate. That We are in a position to not worry about things like this. I am well aware that many, many people are not. Just my two cents on the whole thing.::yes::

You should call disney and ask about the ticket for your DS. We thought our DD would turn 3 during one of our trips (ended up going the week before) so we called disney and asked what we should do. The CM told me that if your child was still 2 when you arrived for your trip you did not need to purchase a ticket. This applied for a package that included length of stay passes. I don't know what the policy is with regular tickets. It would be worth it to ask b/c you may be able to save money without breaking any rules.

BTW My DD turns 3 a week before our next trip. I would not even think of trying to sneak her in. Can you imagine her blurting out "I am not 2, I'm 3!"

Don't feel guilty... just because someone wants to buy a used refillable mug on ebay doesn't mean they cannot afford to take a disney trip. Sometimes those with the most pinch pennies the hardest! DH and I are DVC members but we never even drink soda or soft drinks at WDW, just water. Please don't feel sorry for us, we can afford soda if we want to but I can't stand carbonation!

shelly3girls: From my understanding the rule is that if your child is 2 when you check-in, he/she is considered 2 for the rest of the stay. So a ticket is not going to be necessary for our son. We have ressies at Hoop Dee Doo on his actual b-day and we did have to pay for him since he will be 3 that day.

You must be new here:teeth: ha-ha..........Cause compared to the "knock-down drag'em outs" of the past that was nothing:jester:

I think the posts about extra people in a room get much more 'intense' than that thread. :crowded:

But, that is cheap!

I think people like that treat the mug thing as a game. It's not that they can't afford it, they want to see what they can get away with...Then probably brag about it.

I can not imagine doing due to sanitary reasons. I am sorry but the savings would not be worth it to me. I know they can be washed but still it just grosses me out. I mean a toothbrush can be cleaned but I don't want a used one off of Ebay.
