I thought I had a heart attack this morning...

I was sitting here checking my email when I got this pain in my chest. I suddenly broke out in a cold sweat and felt panicked. I called dh immediately and went to the randolph clinic. They did an EKG, which thankfully turned out normal. My blood pressure was 190/110, and given my family history of heart disease and high blood pressure, I'm going in next week for a full workup. It was so scary. I'm seeing this as a wake up call!!

That's scary. I'm glad you're okay and I think that is VERY wise to get a workup. Did they give you any indications of what it could be?

I don't know your age, but my friend just went thru all kinds of testing with the exact same symptoms. Her diagnosis: menopause! Seems the hormone fluctuations can bring on panic attacks. She was annoyed at the diagnosis, but very relived that it's not her heart.
