I thought AP must be activated to book BR?

Hi, I thought that with the Best Rate plan, that the AP for booking had to be activated. I've seen posts where people ordered the AP and before it's even come in the mail, have booked Best Rate with it. Is this correct? I was under the impression that this was one of the main reasons for the new program. In effect, preventing people from getting the AP just for the room discount. I'm not bashing...last June I got our AP for the discount myself and I am using it again next July, hopefully with Best Rate. It's just that I was going to recommend an AP to a friend, but told her that I thought it now had to be activated first. Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance!

I have read you can book best rate with an ap voucher. There were a few threads about this maybe you can find them. From what I remember reading you can order the voucher then call and get the voucher number. Hopefully someone will answer that has done that.

To book Best Rate you just need the numbers and date from the AP voucher or actual card itself. If you call and order an AP over the phone, ask for the voucher numbers and voucher date. If they don't have it right then, call the next day and request your AP voucher number. They have now changed it to 60 days instead of 120.

I only have an AP voucher and was able to book our December trip with those numbers. I was also able to order a DDE card with just the voucher number.

Since you have to activate the voucher at Disney, and many of us live far away, it wouldn't make sense to require an activated voucher to get the benefits of the AP.

This is the first time I've bought an AP, and I LOVE the benefits!
