I thought Amazon would have better service than this

My friend was placing an order and got a notice saying the stuff wouldn't arrive until after the 24th...even though on another part of the order it sait it would ship between the 13th and 16th. She called and the person couldn't give her a straight answer and then said "If you want to be safe, order somewhere else"!!!!! :rotfl:
 
A year ago that would have surprised me, but not now. Last year I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon and got free shipping, which takes longer. I kept following up and following up. After many many calls someone finally admitted that the order was lost and should have already shipped. It took about 24 days for the order to arrive.
 
I'm having problems with amazon right now too! I'm assuming their site is having some technical difficulties??

I have attempted to place this certain order a few times now and it won't go through. I just tried placing the order again and now all of a sudden half of the items I'm trying to buy all say "no longer availablle" during checkout!! Yet on each item's detail page they all say "ships in 24 hours" none are marked as out of stock or no longer available, it's only during checkout that this no longer available message comes up. Frustrating. I really don't want to deal with their customer service, ughhh! I guess I will just give up on these items. It really irks me since I order from amazon quite often and never had any problems like this.

edited to add: I have been in contact with their e-mail customer service but haven't heard back yet
 
Wow, I placed my order Friday after midnight (so technically Saturday morning) my items arrived on Wednesday.
 

3 years ago I ordered a bunch of stuff on Amazon one of the options on the order page was to save on shipping by combining them together, which I selected whiteout reading further. Results wore that my order didn’t arrive till a week after Christmas.
 
I got that same message a couple of weeks ago.....wrote an e-mail complaining about it....everything was in stock.
They were very nice .....apoligized and sent everything overnight with no cost to me.
Even followed up on it.
I think it all depends on who you have dealing with your problem.
I've used them for years and will continue to do so.
 
It's the "super saver shipping" my brother got nabbed by this the other day.

he ordered a bunch of stuff, qualified for super-saver-shipping, and then foudn out it wouldn't be delivered until AFTER christmas.

so he took/paid for, regular shipping and it shipped out the following day.

he calls it amazon-dot-crack.
 
Wow! I am so surprised to be hearing all of this! I placed an order on Sunday (Nov 27), and chose the free Saver Shipping. The confirms they sent me said my package would arrive on Dec 17. It came yesterday, Dec 1.

if you are having problems with your packages, this is Amazon's customer service number for US and Canada. I called it because I had accidently screwed up with a shipping address. The number was answered by a real person who was very helpful. Good luck.

I am apalled at the level of customer service we are receiving from many companies nowadays.

I ordered my Christmas cards from Kodakgallery.com. I ordered them Sunday, they arrived on Wednesday. I was delighted - until I opened the package and found the processing turned my picture yellow. My girls' faces are yellow, and the fresh snow in the background is yellow. They said their special processing service which produces more vibrant colors and draws details out of shadows could have done that to my picture. I requested they re-process it immediately using their regular process. They referred me to their return policy.

They have a 30 day guarantee return policy. But it takes at least 5 days for your return to ship to California, 5 days for the return department to process the return and then 3 days to get the cards back to you. That doesn't really give me enough time to get them out before Christmas, considering how busy December is. So I am returning them and stopping payment on the credit card charge. I will take them to Wal-Mart. It's really too bad. I was willing to give them another chance. Now I will never use their service again.

I ordered lots of gifts on Black Friday from Amazon and got all three HUGE boxes on Tuesday. only a couple of the things I ordered didn't have free super shipping, but what did still came at the same time. Good luck.
 
I order a lot of things all year from Amazon, now that the holiday season has arrived and I've been ordering things, they've been making mistakes, such as, I ordered one xbox game for $45 and I paid for one, and then they accidently sent me 3, over the course of 3 days, of course I opened the boxes because I ordered other stuff from them too, but now I have to go out of my way to send them the extra products back.
 
I've had good luck with them. I only ordered two separate items this year but they arrived really quickly. They actually arrived much quicker than what they originally said which was kind of nice.
 
When I first started ordering from Amazon, things I ordered got to me very quickly. Now I order something that is in stock and it doesn't even get sent out until a week later. Why? I order things from JCPenney.com, Kohls.com, Danskin.com, etc., and they're here two days later. That's how it used to be with Amazon. This year I ordered some things for my kids' birthdays four weeks in advance and they arrived one day before their birthdays. And these were in stock items.
 
I haven't had many problems with Amazon. One of my orders is still listed as "shipping soon" although I got the package a month ago. They haven't charged me either so I emailed them to let them know about it.

As far as shipping -- if you want your items quickly, you'll have to pay for it. I personally love the Super Saver Shipping. Most of my items arrive quickly, although a few have taken a bit of time.
