I think we're over the values...

Holiday Inn Express is what I tend to compare budget hotels to. I really like Holiday Inn at all levels and the Express versions are nicer imo.

Those we stayed at did but I don't know if all of them do.
I think they all do. There's not a lot of chain hotels that don't. Motel 6 and Super 8 are the only ones I can think of. I like Cabana Bay at Universal for a value resort. I spent one night a pop and said never again. I do like POR and CSR for a short stay.

I LOVE Cabana Bay! That place has the best deals and is so nice.

I think that the older La Quintas don't have inside corridors either but the newer ones that include suites seem to.

It’s one of those situations where once you go with the best, you can never go back to the rest.

It’s like that with every aspect in life though

I actually like the fun vibe of the values. And I have stayed at the Poly, the Contemporary, the Beach Club, and the Swan. Plus the Sports, Music, and Pop.

NOV 2018 will be my 3rd time doing a split stay with a few nights at VALUE then transferring to MOD or Deluxe because of booking unavailability for our entire stay.
I can do that!! Otherwise I prefer a MOD or DELUXE hands down.

Sometimes! We stayed offsite our 1st trip to WDW. Next dozen times have been onsite at POP. We stayed at CBR last trip which was great. Really loved it. But this year we're back at a value. Why? Because CBR cost us only $100 more for a 10 night stay for 4 people over POP because of specials they were offering. They've taken away those deals. It will now cost use about $800 more. While a moderate is better, its not $800 better. A Deluxe would be more than 2 or 3 times that increase. While I can afford it, I wouldn't get my moneys worth.

For those of you who only like interior hallways, I have an honest question .. why is that? I personally like outside doors, whether we are on the ground floor or any upper floor. The locking capability of a door is the same. But way more than that, I love being able to "feel" the day, while I am drinking my tea first thing in the morning. I just step outside, absorb the morning, and relax a little before the day really begins. That isn't possible if you are in a hotel with an interior hallway where you have to go down to the lobby and perhaps out to the parking lot to get a feel for the day. I am wondering why you like them?

Balconies.

True, at Disney deluxes have balconies. But moderates are the same as values in this regard. People always point out that they want interior hallways, not that they want a balcony. I just wonder why.

I was more referring to your comment about absorbing the morning and relaxing a bit before starting your day.

Safety reasons are a huge reason many like interior hallways. I never thought about safety with exterior doors until the dis.

For some reason people say safety.. But it's not like access is restricted to the hall ways... Someone could just as easily break in to a room from a hallway as they could from outside.

The more realistic reason would be not having to walk in hot/inclement weather to get to other places in the hotel (food, lobby, etc).
