I think the BLT rooms are boderline UGLY or at least 1970's cheesey

There has been alot of negative feedback on the decor. Knowing Disney, they will pay attention to public feedback and make changes as necessary. I am sure the decor we see now, will be quite diferent from the final version we see after opening.

I know we won't ever buy into BLT (VWL is on our wish list!) but I would like to stay in a studio and get an MK view just once. I certainly wouldn't mock the furnishings...it's Disney! They want to make eachhotel unique and special; catering to everyone's tastes. Not really sure what point the OP wanted to make with her comments...........:confused3

The Contemporary was never a big favorite of mine anyway and to be honest, the decor of the villas is pretty close to what I thought they would be. I expected the 1970's view of 'modern' design.

Too bad they didn't go back one decade to the 1960's :hippie: and used more of a Jestson's decor, complete with body tube elevators and Rosie the robot maid!:rotfl:

Then the solution would simply be not to stay there, and don't purchase there. I actually like most of the furnishings, though the wood cabinetry looks a little too dark..but it may just be the photos I've seen.

I'm not going to purchase there, I have enough OKW points to fill our vacation needs. But I may try to stay there occasionally, but OKW will always be my favorite.

It is pretty dark, but the overall room decor is not ... the models look a little dim, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact there is absolutely no natural sunlight coming in.

All in all, the photos online don't do the real thing justice. We added on during the pre-add session, then again on Sunday and are considering adding more points even. ;)

I think the BLT rooms are boderline UGLY or at least 1970's cheesey, i have seen nicer furniture at the curb on Sunday nights

More importantly, do you plan on staying there? If not, that's just more chances of an MK view for me. ;)

I think it is great that DVC offers us all so many choices. There is a location to meet the personal preferences of almost anyone. I love the condo style of OKW, while others love the "in the middle of the action" feeling of BWV. The Contemporary was always my favorite non-DVC resort. Now with the BLT I have the option of occasionally trying for a DVC stay at 7 months.

The treehouses will be another great DVC additon, but I'll bet they will be next to impossible to book 7 months out.

Well, you always have the option of trading an 11 month ressie for another 11 month ressie. ;)

I disagree ... at this stage of the game, I doubt we'll see any real changes between what is in the model and what is in the actual villas.

I hope not -- we  it the way it is!!

I think there will some changes or tweaking. We saw the GCV's models during the member meeting in May and went again last month and there were some changes. Our guide told us in May that the Imagineers were still tweaking.

The BLT decor has been growing on me. As I see more "live" pics, the more I'm liking it. I'm sure by the time we all get to stay in a villa, there will be little changes.

Oh my goodness if they had body tube elevators I'd just might have to LIVE there!! :thumbsup2

Dining table area does look a little like one I saw in a travel trailer that converted to a bed

bedside table in studio does have a drawer and room for a few things on top.
There is a shelf near the entry door for keys, glasses, etc.

The room actually seemed spacious for a studio -

The blue is not as bright as my pictures indicate - it is actually much more subdued. I told the guide I was with that I had come prepared to hate the colors and decor and actually really like them. It is not my favorite theme but once in the rooms decided I could definitely enjoy a stay there. I really love the kitchenette area in the studio.

More I see the more I like it and it does keep with the overall resort theme.

Our evening newspaper had Kohl's advertisement with very similar bedding to what's shown in BLT studio - found it on their site, hope the link works

Tweaking is fine, I just don't expect to see anything real/major ... I think that what we see is pretty much what we're going to get. ;)

Our family does not like the Contemporary and have no desire to stay there but I would never knock anyones choice in DVC. We bought our 2 favorite VWL and BCV and I am sure there are people who do not like those resorts. So like so many have already stated "to each their own". Buy where you like, enjoy your vacation and don't knock anyones choices. What may be ugly for one may be nice for another. :)

I don't generally like modern furniture/architecture, but I think when Disney does it, it has a certain charm. It doesn't seem as cold, maybe; dare I say it's a little whimsical? I think the rooms are cute and I would love being on the monorail or being able to walk to the MK.

Having said that, when we buy (have to wait until I go back to work:goodvibes ), I think we're looking at a Wilderness Lodge resale because the grounds are beautiful and it seems more like a "resort" to me. But really, it wouldn't take much swaying on my husband's part to make me want to buy BLT.

Congrats to all you BLT owners--I'm slightly green with envy.
