After finally landing my dream job working for a WDW TA I feel overwhelmed!! It's not that the job is overly difficult but as we all know it is time consuming-which I had expected. The problem is that over the past few weeks Mattie(11 months) has really "blossomed"(lol) and is extremely active and very attached to me which is making it difficult to concentrate which in return is making it take MUCH longer to quote vacations. what should take 1 hour is taking 4 etc. I'm getting all my quotes out and I've booked a few vacations(and made some friends!LOL)but I feel like I'm neglecting my family/home a bit. I'm sure it will get easier and I will get quicker but I'm sad to say if I continue to feel "consumed" by it I will regretfull have to stop. I love what I am doing and would like to continue but this was suppose to be a part time thing and it is full time right now. I have no problem working full time but my Dh works 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs(home visits-RN) so that I could stay home with the kids. This was not so much an income winner for me but a sanity thing and enjoyment!!
I miss being here as well! I just thought I'd moan a bit....carry on!(lol)

"Blossoumed" huh?;) They are a handful aren't they? I hope you can catch your breath and find your pace soon. Good luck!

Oh Kim:( Sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed. I have been there myself. Hopefully things settle down for you a bit.

I would love to be doing what you are doing. Things could be changing here at my job in the next year, so if you hang in there, I could take over for ya:D

Just out of curiousity, where/how did you find this job. I would love to do something like it. I also understand. I was running a family hvac business out of our home when my twin sons were born. It always took me longer to do anything.

I know I risk looking silly

... but what is a "WDW TA"? What is it that you do?

LOL!!! I really want to continue this and I will unless it doesn't calm down a bit!!on top of Mattie becoming a handfull his big brother goes to school every day, full time now so I think he is a bit lonely!! The company I work for is wonderful and they have told me to take as much or as little as I want. I just was trying to do my share. Over the weekend I got bombarded because they are all(except for a few)in Fla. so they could not work due to the hurricane. I had about 50 vacations to price on Sat. alone-that is a lot for me!!! Hence the feeling of being overwhelmed!!LOL

Oh Kim, I feel for you. Glad the job is going well for you.

Cassie: WDW TA: Walt Disney World Travel Agent

It will get easier when you get into a routine, it just takes time.

Ohhh.. I get it.. How do you become a WDW TA? In a few years I'll be looking to work from home, too!

I was a travel agent before I had kids but stopped after I had my first son. I have been looking for the right agency(internet) for almost 2 years now. Some that I was interested in were not hiring or a few that wanted to hire me I did not want to get involved with. I finally found the "perfect" fit for me!! You don't need to have worked as an agent but lots of Disney knowledge helps!! There are a bunch of internet agencies out there you just need to do your homework!!

Good luck!

 I hope it gets easier for you, Kim! Try to remember this weekend was unusual circumstances and hopefully things will slow down a bit for you. Hang in there...but if you want to give up the job, cna you give it to me? ;) :teeth:
Good luck!
