I think I'm getting addicted to the Twilight series!

Am I alone?? Is there something wrong with me??? Is there anyone else out there that can relate to what I'm saying?

Someone at work lent me the 4 series of books last Tuesday; I'm already almost finished Breaking Dawn - I can't put them down!

Oh girl....PUH-LEEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm right there with you. I'm 40 years old, married, with a son and I am infatuated with Edward! I'm waiting on the book New Moon to come available from the library, but I'm going to see it next Sunday with my teenage neighbors across the street. I'll be purchasing ALL 4 books as a Chanukah gift to myself in a couple of weeks. AND I'll be owning all the movies too.

It's OK. You don't have to fight it...just go with it. It's a harmless diversion for us moms. That is, unless you start wanting to suck blood or stalk Robert Pattinson!!!!!

I'm 21 and I went to the New Moon premiere thinking I was going to be one of the oldest, but it was about evenly split between girls younger then me and women much older then me. (I knew there were a lot of older fans, I just didn't think a lot of them would show up 2-3 hours early to the midnight premiere.)

Phew! Okay, so at least it's good to know I'm not the only one!

DD watched Twilight again this aft, and I was once again reminded that although I thought the acting was pretty bad, the story is irresistable. There's something about it that's just very appealing to me, you know?

New Moon was a much better movie as far as I'm concerned, and I already can't wait for Eclipse!

yes im 41 yrs old, 2 children. When Twlilght first came out I did not even think about it, until last weekend, everything changed. My dd9 was wanting to see New Moon, I told her we would rent Twlight first and then maybe we might go see it, when it gets to the dollar movies. Needless to say, we watch Twlight on a Friday night saw New Moon next day. yep, I am hooked!!!

Same here. Although I didn't go until the Tuesday after the release, I went knowing that I would be one of the oldest there at 22 and the DBF would be the oldest at 25... absolutely not. We sat close to a couple of teenage girls but other than that everyone looked my age or older.

And as a side note: DBF and a couple of other guys were the only guys there out of about 30 people

Agreed. They are the.worst.books.ever.written. I hated all four of them but read every word. It was like a car wreck. I just couldn't stop looking even though they are tragically bad.

I'm feeling pretty stupid here.......why are they the worse books ever written. As a writer myself I feel I should have recognized this. Now granted I did pick up on some things that drove me nuts like the repeated use of calling Edward an angel, but I'm not understanding why so many think they are the worse books.

I'm not a writer and I wasn't the original poster of the quality of writing comment but the things that really bugged me were the EXTREME overuse of the word "shudder" and the repetitive sentence structer... it seemed like there were entire paragraphs that had all 3-4 word sentences... it drove me CRAZY!!!

As for the plot, that is something I absolutely love. I couldn't stop reading them but I just wish they were written a little better. Also, I was so annoyed at the fact that the books are very predictable and that I had to read 400 pages to get to something I already knew.

But still, I will read any following books of the series, if there are any and watch all the books... and if #4 does get filmed in Portland, OR again, I might have to go hot Twilight boy stalking.

ETA: I don't think these come even close to being the "worst books ever"


And as a side note... I'm on Team Emmett since I think Edward looks like a herion addict in the movies (I loved the look of RP as Cedric Diggory) and Jacob is jailbait!
