I have been trying for two days now with just the Captain's quarters Quest and it won't let me advance, even though the answer is right or I did what it wanted me too. I keep getting tossed back several tasks and have had to buy way too much stuff at the fantasyland store and play Pirates way too many times....just to get tossed back and start over. sorry gang but this is just not any fun anymore and I think I'm finished...probably with the whole VMK thing. I have no hair left to pull out!

Hope all of you have had better luck and more fun at this new part of VMK....I hope to see you all around the DIS boards tho!

It's official...I have lost the tasks to the quest it did give me credit for and have been booted back to task 2 several times now and can not get past that....VMK has lost it's appeal and I can't believe they would allow things like the timer to ruin what could be a fun game. I feel sorry for the kids that must be having some of these problems too....I just can't do it anymore. It used to be such a great time and new stuff was exciting to see...now I could just cry over it and that just does not seem right.

chickeysmom dont give up i no the quests are hard but thats no reason to leave i mean your part of the heart of the dis boards and vmk we all love you and we want you to stay we're here together and if you need help i'll be glad to guid you through

The quests are challenging, but the rewards are very cool. Do not let this ruin your vmk fun. You can always choose not to even do the quests and go back to whatever made it fun for you before.

I happen to love the quests. They are a rush!

I know exactly what you mean, I'm considering throwing in the towel on VMK myself.

However, I don't really want to lose all the friendships I have gained on VMK on the boards.

So I guess the only choice is to give it a break and come back later when there isn't all this hysteria and slowness and maybe in a couple weeks or so it will be better and we can actually type or move without waiting for fifteen minutes. Until then, guess we should find something else to do. How about some spring cleaning around the house?

I feel your pain that is what my "I am so Mad" thread was about...the exact same thing is happening to me!

VMK needs to fix what ever is causing this problem! They should not have gone LIVE with Tomorrowland and the Quests if when you got the answer right you get bumped back to the beginning because it says you DID NOT.

IT IS NOT FUN and very frustrating for me so I can only imagine how the kids feel that this is happening too.

I took a break from VMK from about 5:30 pm until 11 pm last night hoping they would get it fix and then tried the Hidden Mickey quest....alast I almost got through it but was stopped dead in my tracks when the 12th one just would not appear!

I too am so ready to throw in the towel for good...but the adduck that I am knows I will keep trying.

There seems to be a bug with some players. I was actually walking a friend through the captains quest but every time she went to discovery island, she could not complete that task. Nothing would happen. She would re-enter and still nothing. She started over several times and nothing. So she could not even move to the next task because of this.

I sent her to the tomorrowland help room to let staff know about this problem.

Another friend had similar problems when going to the crow's nest. It would not give her the "task completed" message no matter what she tried. She had been trying for almost three hours but always had the exact same problem at the exact same spot.

I went to Host_Bella's room last night for help. She dc'd while I was in line. Then I made it to the chair and told her my problem - I finished the Shipwreck Quest and did not receive the Diver's pin (so I can't do any of the other quests) - and she said she would write my title down and then she dc'd again! So I got back in line and went through AGAIN and she said she did get my title from the previous visit. That was at about 7 PM last night. The pin never appeared in my inventory all evening, so I am hoping it will be there today. I have also sent in two e-mails to Contact Us and I used the Help button in VMK as well.

So I completely understand your frustration, but I think you should hang in there. The quests that I have been able to complete (Shipwreck, Animation, and Hidden Mickeys) have been lots of fun. I look forward to completing the others and I have faith that VMK will sort this out soon. Good luck!

I am very proud of her because she made it through most of the tasks on her own! She is just thrilled to be playing a challenging game and isn't worried about getting to the end. I wish I was! I haven't tried to play too much because I have a very low frustration threshhold and I have a feeling I would be joining you Chickeysmom.

The last two days really haven't been very fun with nobody to hang out with. All my friends are playing. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out soon...

Yes, while the quests are a challenge enough for us - trust me I was not a happy camper last night, but then I was able to laugh about it with a friend. I have decided to hold off having my kids try it until all the bugs are worked out.

Hang in there everyone, do not let this get you down. We have enough stress in real life, that is why we should not have VMK stress.

I too have had frustrations with the quests. I was able to finish the Shipwrecks, Animation, and Hidden Mickeys quests as well as the first of the Autopia quests. But yesterday when I tried the second level of Autopia, I couldn't finish an HM game for anything. I tried several times to play it and every single time would get booted back out to the lobby before the second round could start. And there were other people there having the same problem.
I finally quit after trying about 6 times. I never did come back to vmk last night. Hopefully they have that problem fixed today.

So just a little patience and maybe a few breaks are required while they are still getting the bugs out.

Those are the exact same places I was having trouble...so like the HIDDEN Mickey Quest in Beta it must be a bug...funny how only certain people expierence it.

I had this same problem, and I tried a lot of things like quitting out of the game, muttering unkind things about VMK and its programmers, and emptying the cache of IE. And then I tried, just for fun, going into a room with other players... I had been using the advanced mode and had been entering empty Discovery Island rooms. When I entered one with other players, I somehow was able to find that stupid boat (I guess it's a peer pressure thing).

I am having the exact same problem, but here is the kicker. When I tried to do the quest with one of my mules...IT WORKED...walked right on to Discovery Island and got my next question.

But for my main character it still has not worked. Even if their are others in the room as well. Now I just have to find some one who can be a sitting duck for my mule so I can win the pirates game part of the quest. I got a message tonight while I was playing that said I won and it game me my credits, and I was still a float, but the quest did not give me credit for it, it still thinks that I have not won the game. So have to play again tomorrow.

As for the crows nest...I had a little problem with that. I just walked all over that thing until I got the congratulations message. Has your friend tried that?

this quest is going to kill me. im on the captins quest... it was great fun until i had to play the pirates game about 300000 times and buy a ton of items!! i cant get my ship turned around... this is the first time i even tried to play it! and all my fellow players in the game keep yellin at me lol its just not fun. and im so freakin close!!! the ONE time i made it thru pirates in the time they gave me (I still dont know how i did it!!!!!) i ran out of time on the next questions!!!! something abouta jewel of leisure or something and i wanted to cry. i have spent only 3 hours on this quest and i want to pull my hair out. i would love to just not do the quests but the prizes are things that make the game better... so i want those lol ugh i cant win ...
i guess i just have to keep trying.

My daughter was playing, and half way through either she timed out or the quest restarted. I re-did the things that she had accomplished for her, and then she did the rest (except I steered while she took pictures on the Jungle Cruise).
