I mean, I just bought A dress. Time will tell if it is THE dress.

Oh god. I'm one of those "multi-dress brides".

Anyway, here it is...

Could a planning journal be far behind? Am I nuts? I'm a good 19 months away from my wedding!

It's true. The Bride has caught hold.

Its definitely gorgeous! You wouldn't be the first to find a dress this far out I am sure! Congrats!

Thanks so much! It just shipped today, so I should have it in a week or so.
Ohboy!

It's beautiful :goodvibes I ordered my dress 14 months before my wedding, so I don't think you're nuts ;)

That is such a lovely dress so elegant.

I wouldnt worry I am over 2 1/2 years out and I have already seen a dress I love really trying to restrain myself from buying it although really worried I wont find one I like as much nearer the time.

Thanks all! I like it more every time I look at the photos. I'll post pics once I get it and try it on.

I grabbed it cause the budget minded gal in me couldn't pass up a $350 Vera Wang (in my size!). May never see that again.

Besides, I'm not crazy about most wedding dresses (for me), and the only other ones I've liked have been $3000 to $5500! Uh-uh! Not MY $3K! I've got guests to feed!

My fiance keeps telling me to take'er easy, that the wedding's a long way off. Silly fellow.

All I can say is, "thank god for ebay".

It looks great. I love it.

I can't seem to find a dress I like. Mine is 13 months away - I keep looking but keep coming up empty handed!!

Wah-wahhhh.

Not my dress after all.

Booooooo...

A word of advice if you're selling wedding dresses on eBay. A bridesmaid dress and a wedding gown are NOT the same thing. ratzlefratzle... list it as a Vera Wang wedding gown but it's really a Vera Wang bridesmaid dress... ratzlefratzle!

At least I got my money back!

This time I'll take the fiance's advice. LOTS of time to look around... relaaaaaax...

how did it look on you though? how did you feel in it? The dress I ordered is a bridesmaid dress but in ivory I think it will be beautiful as a wedding dress... then again though, i'm not going for a traditional "bridal" gown. I mean, you saw the picture of it before you ordered it and thought it actually was a wedding gown right? so besides that, what's wrong with it?

sorry, not trying to change your mind or anything... and if you really don't feel comfortable in it then by all means keep looking ! (you have plenty of time).. I"m just curious that's all! :goodvibes

Good points all, Luna99. Believe me, I had several moments of "am I over-reacting?" before I returned the dress.

I have no qualms about wearing bridesmaid dresses as wedding gowns, and would even consider it given the right circumstances. But I want to make that choice consciously.

But when you list something as a Vera Wang wedding gown (starting price on those is $2000 in the store) and it's really a Vera Wang bridesmaid dress (starting price is around $200 in the store)... well you can see how I'd feel bamboozled.

Yes, it's pretty. But it's not what I thought I was buying, that's really what bothered me.

No way would I have bought it at the price I did if I knew what it really was. The wedding industry fleeces brides enough as it is without me settling for a lower quality product than what I intended to buy, you know?

yep, I hear ya... false advertising and what not... it probably left you with just a weird feeling about the dress, I don't doubt that.

well, now you can go out and do more dress shopping! :yay: which hopefully is more fun for you than it is for me.. haha.

Ha! If by "fun", you mean "making me acutely aware of how much weight I gained in the last year", then yes. Wheee!:rotfl:

They look pretty on other people, but the big poofy white dresses scare me. Maybe I'm crinoline-o-phobic.
