I think I have officially lost my mind when it comes to Disney prices!

My sympathies darlin'.

I had lived my entire life up until a few months ago with the nearest Starbucks being over half an hour away from me and inside a Target (so it really doesn't count).

When I recently moved to Jacksonville Florida, I was overrun. I have 4 starbucks within 3 miles of me. It's nearly unavoidable. And there's something in it...i dunno what it is. But this whole town is jacked up on the stuff.

I try to ration it though mainly because...well, they cost MORE than any non-alcoholic drink at Disney!!!

Yeah, we have one inside a Target too and then a free standing one opened a few years ago... I had heard so much about what an amazing company it was to work for but it was just terrible. And there are a lot of misconceptions about the beverages-- Some people would come in 3-4 times a day and get their calorie counts just from their drinks alone. But yeah, I think it's addicting... I can't explain it otherwise!

If there were two places that overnight ceased to exist I would be thrilled: Starbucks and Walmart. :lmao:

Hahaha, CO SIGNED.

I am at Disney right now, and my personal sticker shock was $38.99pp at Garden Grill last night; just file this under 'Shocking Easter Moneygrabs'. :scared1:

Portions were on the small side. Of course you could ask for more, it just made for a more leisurely dinner. It took us about 1 1/2 hours but we didn't mind as we like the spinning feature and we saw lots of characters.

Now that my kids are older though, we probably won't be doing these kinds of meals any more.

I agree with you but if you go to any resort area you are going to get charged a fortune for everything. Prices at all types of theme parks or destination spots are through the roof. Try and get a cocktail for under $12 at a hotel somewhere......

If you want cheap places to eat you need to go offsite and eat at the chain restaurants, and even those are creeping up fast.

I live in SWFL, a glass of ice tea with your meal is up to $3 now. Almost every single place is expensive, you cannot get a lunch entree for under $10.

This year the Yankees increased their parking rates to $35 per game

... taking things like that into account, Disney isn't so far out of wack. Sure it is expense compared to a local restaurant/store ... but for a source of entertainment, I don't think their prices are outrageous

I agree Donald. Not sure what the point of a Mars without nuts is. I guess they are more interested in deep frying them?..lol
I actually mentioned those to a Brit friend of mine and said...your Mars bars don't have nuts. He responded with "why would they??"
lol. I said cause then they are just....fluff. And what's the point? That's what we have milky ways for.

You know I haven't eaten a mars/snickers/milky way in forever! I barely even remember what the mars is other than I didn't care for them much as a kid. And now that you mention it. I didn't really like the snickers with almonds the time I tried it...lol. I think I'm a reeses cup or kit kat kinda gal. But most likely just a nice hunk of dark chocolate...pure.

For some reason though I always wanna try one of those stupid candy bars at the UK pavilion. WHY on earth are they THREE DOLLARS???

Mars bars are still available in Canada. Growing up they were always my favourite chocolate bar. When I first moved to the US, care packages from family ALWAYS included a couple packages of them among other things. You don't put nuts into Mars bars. That's just wrong. Mars Bars are not the same as Milky Ways. The ratio of nugat to caramel is different and the nugat is a little different. Mars Bars are far superior. Also, Mars Bars freeze much nicer than Milky Way (try it; they're DELICIOUS frozen). Clearly I've spent way too much time thinking about this. LOL

All that being said, I look at the chocolate bars in the UK pavillion every time we go and every time I crings at the prices and tell myself to just wait until our next visit to Canada to see family and we'll stock up there for a fraction of the price. Those UK treats are the most jacked up priced items at WDW IMO. The price shocks me every time. I don't mind paying high prices for something I can't get elsewhere but those just seem so wrong to cost so much.

Yes you spent way too much time thinking about it...lol!
I would try them frozen but once I buy one there for the lovely $3 price tag, i doubt i'm gonna carry it around all day to take home to freeze. It will end up a pile of goo. It's florida! Oh, I was there in December and it was around 30 degrees out so maybe that would be a day to get one. It will freeze in my pocket.

I knew you were just joking when you mentioned the $9 "boozy" slushies...there ain't no booze in those.

DH and I just ate dinner tonight at Wendy's. I got a chicken sandwich combo, medium sized. DH ordered the triple burger combo, large size. (DH is an avid weightlifter and exercise fanatic...he wanted the protein:lmao:). Our total for the two meals (no dessert) was over $17:scared1:. Makes Disney's prices almost seem reasonable:rotfl2:.
