Just got back from a fantastic stay at BLT.

We had such a good time, while we were there that we started talking about how much fun it could be to come back and stay at BLT again, and do a NO PARK trip. Sooooo, I booked it!

Can I really stay within eyesight of the Magic Kingdom and not go in:confused3

I have been totally sucked into the DVC way of life....

We have only been members for 2 years, and so far are only taking annual trips, yes after only 2 visits I am thinking I will never have enough points:eek:

So, tell me your stories of non-park trips and how do you resist the call of the mouse?

We're going for two nights in April with no parks. We're staying at AKV before we take a two-week cruise, but our annual passes will have expired and I can't bring myself to pay for new park tickets when we'll have lots of ways to spend our $$$ on the cruise itself. So, it'll be the resort pool and activities for entertainment. We might make it to Downtown Disney or maybe try a water park if the weather looks great.....but no parks!

BFF and I will be there next week at SSR and don't plan on doing any parks. There is so much more that WDW can offer than just the theme parks. Tours, resort-hopping, drinking around the "World", High Tea, a dinner show, La Nouba, a good book at the pool, shopping and walking around DTD, and of course, EATING. You will love it and probably book at least one non-park trip a year after this. Mark my words. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

You're a better man than me Gunga Din ;-)

I could do a no park trip at WDW but to do it at BLT might be tough -- OKW, SSR, AKL, VWL highly possible; BWV and BCV maybe -- BLT would be tough!

I agree.

BWV, BCV definitely no way we could avoid Epcot. Seeing fireworks nightly.

At BLT, if we ate at the Poly or GF, we'd ride the monorail. No way I could ride it past MK without going on. If we ate at other resort restaurants, we would walk to MK and catch the resort bus from there. Again, being at MK would be too tempting for us.

It would probably be easier at OKW, SSR, AKV or VWL . I would have a difficult time being at BWV or BC and not be able to stroll into Epcot! There is plenty to do in the Boardwalk area but Epcot is our favorite park. I haven't done a no park trip yet, not sure I will. If we aren't going to do parks we go to Vero Beach!

Not even a meal at an EPCOT restaurant? I think I would have to ride the Tower of Terror once or twice and ditto for Toy Story Mania. I could easily skip MK. Or at least I say that but I'm not looking at it from the many windows at BLT. Don't know how you can do it. Not even one roller coaster? :confused3

Hey, don't forget mini golf. We played summerland, near Blizzard Beach, and we loved it and could not believe we hadn't played it sooner.

Also, don't forget Hoop-De-Doo-Review -- a bit of park-like entertainment without the park!

Have fun!

We kept busy on our pre-cruise trip by pool hopping, dining at resort restaurants we normally don't make time for, going to Downtown Disney, and then we cheated a little by going to MNSSHP! So we didn't quite stay out of the parks. :goodvibes

More power to ya!!! I don't think I could ever do a no park trip. Heck, I can't even go to Florida without stopping at WDW! We have plans to go to Clearwater for spring training in March. Some how I managed to work it so we stay 2 days at OKW. Just can't go to FL without some Disney mixed in.

A little????? But you almost made it. ;)

And why on Earth would you want to be within walking distance and not go in??? Are you totally crazy?
:lmao:
I couldn't do it! No way!! I stay at my AKV home resort and have to trek all the way to the MK at least once! (Although, haven't been to DHS at all the past 5 or 6 visits.)

OMG! Tell me about it!

I've been a member for less than a year and a half and already added on twice with another in process. Seems as I book reservations there just aren't enough points for me to be flexible with. I always thought I would be happy with studios now and then but I have found I'm not.

I made the mistake of buying at a second resort also. Well, I discovered I didn't have enough points for the second resort to take advantage of the 11 month window of when I wanted to stay at that resort , at least not in 1 one bedroom.

I've been vacationing to WDW for 15 years now and I can't believe I never bought into DVC sooner! When I think of all the $$ I spent staying at Disney resorts over the years...let's just say I could have had more points than I could ever use by now!!!

Anyway, my biggest problem now is to cease buying anymore contracts!! I stretched my vacation budget way too thin now - and I have to pay those darn yearly fees. I'm gonna have points but no money to buy a plane ticket to get there!
:sad2:

So after all the excitement of an extra DVC trip, DH went to the dentist today and has to have lots of dental work done

which will use up most of our extra trip funds

But--on a happy note, our regular Oct trip has not only DFIL and DMIL, but my dad and stepmom too!!!! My kids are going to be in HEAVEN :dance3:

I have the opposite problem...a recent 15 month AP renewal. Now I HAVE to schedule at least 2 more trips before January 2011 and I don't have any idea how I can fit them in...
