OK I have arranged to purchase a BCV 120 point resale contract to join your infamous clan. Of course, that ugly ROFR concept keeps creeping into my head as the only possible reason why I might be dis-owned/orphaned from this great family!! I am set to buy in at $84 per point (which seems to be a bit higher than many around here) but does include 70ish 2004 points plus a full boat of 2005 points. The fact that is at BCV, seemingly the highest demand resort (?), I wasnt gonna squabble over a few extra bucks.

Everyone say a prayer for me, the pope is difficult to get a hold of these days.

After I become family, the biggest worry will be all of the negative press around here about the BCV room conditions being run down. Has there ever been a light rehab done there? It seems like it would be hard to rehab it since the place is booked most of the time ...

Also, perhaps its harder because a maid only gets to hit each room once every 4 days or so with no more time to do it than a regular hotel room? How do they pull it off?

PS. Right after we bought there were many threads regarding bad service, sloppy halls, mildew in bathrooms at BWV, we were wondering what sort of $20,000+ slum we bought into. Sometimes I wonder if we own the same DVC as some of the posters. However, if and when we have a problem we will deal with it. We are very happy.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

We actually enjoyed our stay at the BCV last May. We did get a HC room, but loved the view and location, so we stuck it out. The room was in good shape and the CM who checked us in was very sweet.

We really liked this resort, but ended up buying SSR through DVC. We may get a chance to stay there again, and I'm not at all worried about the problems that have been mentioned here. This is a very small community of people compared to the actual size of the DVC community. I'm sure most people have a very nice time.

I'm not exactly sure how they manage rehab on the rooms, but they must block out a group of rooms to work on at a time. These rooms would just not be available for guests. Or, maybe since Disney is the most magical place on Earth, they do it by magic!

$84 a point? I just bought at $85 a point and was told Disney was buying back at $84.50. My offer expires in just a few days and have not heard a word about ROFR. Don't despair though, as my conversation continued with the resaler I was dealing with, I got the feeling she was just trying to get me to come up in my price was all.

If you go to the DVC Community Board, look for the "Anybody made it through ROFR" thread. Go to the last page and you will see the current list which Beca has compiled showing contracts which have passed, been ROFR'd, plus those of us who are twisting slowly in the wind.

The only ROFR's shown there for BCV are in the high 70's, but that is obviously only anecdotal info, based on what people have told Beca. There have been some contracts reported passed lower than your prices. That doesn't mean you're in, but it is cause for hope.

P.S. You might also want to leave your contract info for Beca to add to the volume of data for others to use.
