I think I can make Mousefest/Disfest!

man I wish I could say I had a trip planned hopefully you guys will have fun for me!!!;)

Calypso--- maybe we can convince some people to have a mini meet for August.

Belle ~ Cocowum and I are already planning on trying to get together for a Dole Whip sometime during the week. I was going to post something in early August inviting anyone that wants to join us. What dates will you be there? I'll be @ WDW from 8/21-8/31. I'm not going to leave before you get there am I?

Don't laugh...but, I did a cost estimate for us to go to Boston via OC route. NC Beast's parents have been wanting us to see how their beach condo has been updated plus eating some of our favorite home state food.

We are staying between 8/24 and 9/2 (evening flight back).

Great...I miss the chat (LONG day shopping with a friend...we had to end it with dinner and drinks :drinking1) and I'm clueless. Could somebody be kind enough to fill me in on DISfest?

You'll have to find a way to "sneak in" in a little trip during December. That is what Mickey_Chic (DW) and I are doing - we just booked a flight down 12/11-12/14. :cool1: Just enough time for the Mega Mouse Meet and a MVMCP. I am wondering about DISfest though - hadn't heard about this yet. Someone must share details!!

Oooooh...wish I could be there too! I guess depending on dates and finances...it's possible for a quick getaway, but I won't get my hopes up. I'm already getting the podcast cruise...wouldn't want to push my luck! ;)

What are your dates Mindy?

We might have to back our dates up and miss mouse fest....not happy if I have to do that.

I suspect rates might go down seems to me people are dropping vacation like flies with money problems and prices going up.

I might have to go back to work full time when school starts up just to afford the cruise and Dec Disney trip. :worried: on top of my other two part time jobs and full time mommy.....

As it is now, I have the flights for Dec.9 and Dec.17, which gives me 8 nights. I might have to shorten it a bit, depending on funds, but I want to catch Mouse/Disfest if I can, and I have people I want to see in FL.

I'm going to have a yard sale, to try to raise some more money for this trip. I may sell a few things on eBay, too.

Yard sales are good we have a neighborhood one in Sept. that we are going to do.

I took some broken necklases and old rings I had to an exchange place and got $400 to put in our vacation fund. Sadly I had to borrow some to make ends meet but still it was easy cash and it was just sitting in my jewlry box.

Have you given any thought to using Hotwire? Yes, it's a bit of a gamble, but especially if it's just yourself, and you're mostly interested in attractions/Disney/etc anyway, the overall hotel experience may not be that important. Seralago, for instance, is a 2.5* on hotwire (I got it for $34 last April, and it was ok, not great, but ok)

For your dates, I'm seeing a 3* for 29/night, or a 2.5* for 44/night. Either of those would be a decent deal, I'd think.

Good luck!

Too bad the cruise is after your December trip otherwise you could charge people for a peak into the cistern. I know I'd pay at least $10 for that :)

We are leaving WDW the day you arrive. What a bummer. We will be there the same time as Kathy and some others, even staying at the same resort as Kathy.

Cool!

I think we're going to absolutely organize an evening at the AC!

I got a great rate at Pop last year for Mousefest on Orbitz in October. I think it was about $59/night. Someone had posted something about it on the Resorts boards and I happened to see it. The rate wasn't available the entire stay but that combined with an AP rate and one night at the Clarion ended up being very economical for me. I am just hoping to get another deal like last year. :thumbsup2

I actually am thinking of using Hotwire, or one of the bidding sites, for a room, unless something else comes up. I don't think I'll rush into anything.

Good idea not to rush. You might fall into a cisteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrnn*thunk*

I'll be there December 9th - 16th. Hope to see all of you there.

So booking the airfare was okay, but I should wait on hotel deals...got it. How about rental cars? I do like to venture off property...is it better to look early, or wait for deals?
Try Priceline. Last June at MCO we booked Priceline and got a mid-size car for $14/day+tax (we didn't take the extra insurance).
