I survived Ivan!!

Hi everyone, its been a little over a week since I was able to use the computer, and this is my first time visiting the boards post Ivan....I am from Pensacola, Florida... we took a direct hit from Ivan and things around here aren't ever going to be the same. This is the worst storm I have ever seen, I am only 25 but I still have seen more than my share of Hurricanes. For those of you who have never experienced a hurricane, consider yourself extra lucky. This week has been extremely hard for everyone in town, it is hard to look around and see the destruction and aftermath and not break down. There has been an outpouring of help and neighborhood harmony we have had so many people around here helping, and I am glad to say that things are coming back alot sooner than expected. We have power crews as far away as Quebec Canada, and I would like to say thanks to each and every person who has put their life on hold to help the people of Pensacola hold it together. Things were pretty bad and like I said previously some things around here will never be the same again, but all in all I think as a community we will pull together, so I am back and I am alive and I just want everyone to know that Even though Ivan huffed and puffed, Pensacola hung tough!!! All I can think about is that everyone I know is safe and we are doing ok everything else is just an afterthought, but guiltily I am still getting excited that my trip is coming up!

Glad to hear you are ok, and we are all so sorry this is happening to Florida this year and all the residents there. I read on Orlando Sentinel Site yesterday that this is the first time since 1886 that four hurricanes have hit the same state in one hurricane season and it was Texas in 1886 that got four storms.

Here are good thoughts and prayers you do not get any damage from Jeanne, as they never know exactly where they are going, take care and stay safe......
