I sure hope there are deals in the fall...

Oooo. Thanks Ursula! I will check CSR too! The transport is a big deal for me! I know it's so far down the list, but when you are in the bus Q's at the end of the night, it's packed, you have two kids, strollers and gear, then you have to wait for three buses because the lines jammed and then you have to stand the whole trip... It seems petty but when you are tired and it's late, you dread it! DW said it's enough of a pain that she would rather pass on the fireworks, to avoid the craziness!

Now renting a car is an option. But I always like to minimize car rentals, since we barely use it!

On this last trip, over 9 days at OKW, the buses were great. Sometimes it seemed like the bus would never come, but a watched pot never boils, right? We always got on the first bus, and I only had to stand once. There usually was always a lot of room!

AKL was the same, but POFQ was great in the am, since we were on the first bus stop, but coming back was a nightmare! LOL.

How are the Epcot resorts? We took a bus over to Boardwalk one day and that seemed like it could be crazy! It. Stops at every resort first. LOL. But you do have the boats and walking into epcot, take the mono to TTC then into MK?
Since I'm asking, I'm assuming WL buses would be good. On par with our AKL stay, one bus stop for the hotel, then to the park? What about coming back? LOL
Sorry if I'm bus crazy!

CSR does not share a bus with other resorts so that's a big plus too. If you want to know everything possible about CSR, there is a sticky thread on the Resorts board/forum. I believe it is by HydroGuy and he has compiled amazing amount of tip info about CSR - it contains EVERYTHING about that resort - it might help you decide. :goodvibes

Hopefully others here can answer your bus questions. If not, there's also the Transporation board/forum. However, someone there has a tag line, "there's no pixie dust on the transportation board." And, that might be true :lmao: I recently posted something lighthearted on a thread and got devoured by some other posters. :scared1: :scared: Boy, did I scurry back in a hurry to the warm and safe confines of the Disboards! :rotfl2:

cheers,
:flower3:

This thread is Buzz2001's thread about CSR. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2038865

And yeah, the Transportation board can get really nasty...but I still go there, because there is so much good information. Just ignore 75% of the post, pick out the good bits, and you will be fine.

You might also want to consider the time of year you are going. During peak season, I have seen every resort bus packed with people standing (even deluxes --- they have no more buses than others). Maybe you should consider going during an off season?

LOL! I know what you mean. I've pretty much stayed out of the other sections of the boards for questions, I think everybody in the DISUF knows more than the rest of the boards combined!

I used to frequent the budget boards but they are vicious there if you ever didn't figure out a way to not get a product for free, over paid for something, or used a credit card for a purchase and don't have 2 years salary in an emergency fund, before you purchase anything that cost more than $1.99 LOL I really thought that board was about finding ways to save money to go to WDW ... Silly me.

Typically we do. Our trips usually happen mid may, sept-oct & this last one was december. We have done trips in January, July and august as well, but those were either in offsite accomodations (a few in some real dives!) or Universal only trips.

I do know what you mean tho. You can't predict what the bus will be like that day! The bus to HS to TSM meet, from TTC, was crazy! It would have been faster to go back to our he resort and then catch the bus to HS.

But I do love the deluxes! We used to think, it's just a hotel. But after a stay in a $25 a night HJs, I changed my mind! A horrible place, and if I just didn't cheap out, a stay in the RPR at Uni would have only cost $300 more. We could afford it, we were just pinching pennys! That changed my attitude regarding spending a few more dollars and not pinching pennys to the extreme on a trip.

and have started the process of booking a trip, for May. Unfortunately we found out our SW credits run out in June! So, we had to use them up (isn't that horrible! lol)

Contacted DU and they gave us a great quote for the 4/3 deal at the AKL in May! It's nice knowing there's a trip in the works and will be here SOON! Of course when it's over and everybody else is going in Sept.-Oct., we will be crying. But maybe I'll hit the lottery and we can go, without the kids for a weekend getaway!

Now we just need to put our deposit down by the 14th, I've already booked air. But it's a snowy day, so we can sit around and talk about it all day!
