Lowe's is to be delivering our new patio french doors today.
DH has already ripped out the old slider!
I told him, he better hope it gets here and it is okay!

I love French doors. Were you able to order the old fashioned Loretta Young type French doors? I want that type of door in my Sabine county house but I was <i>told</i> that they weren't available any more.

The type of door they set in only has one side that opens. I've always been a little suspicious that my husbands uncle just didn't like the door I wanted so he said they weren't made anymore.

We debated on the door. Anderson and other top of the line cost Thousands.
This was just under $700.
(French doors; blinds inside.)
Yes, we know they don't compare to Andersons. But we could replace them about five times at the same cost of Pellas or Andersons.
And one time in Lowe's we just happened to chat with another customer who was going back and buying a second set.
He liked his first so much, he was installing another set out from his master bedroom.
So that was comforting to hear from a voice of experience.
And as he put it, if the doors were going into an expensive home it would be different. When it's just an average home like ours, that makes a difference. In a million dollar home you expect Anderson. In a home around/under $150,000, you don't.
Quarter till 11:00. No doors yet. Just a big gapping hole!
