I have done NS for a whole day now! I plan on doing it at least until our Disney trip in August. Hopefully then I'll be much closer to my goal weight and I'll switch to WW when we get back.
The food so far is good--the breakfast and dinner items and the dessert were very good. I messed up on lunch and thought it was microwavable, but turns out it needs boiling water, and our staff lunchroom doesn't have a stove, LOL--I put very hot water in it from the tap but I can't help think it would have been a better consistency if I'd done it right. I think for lunches I'll have to rely more on convenience type stuff like meal bars. I know the heavy duty stuff (eggs) needs to be saved for weekends.
My only disappoinment is the free week of food I got--they picked it from "favorites" but not my favorites--BBQ soy chips (I don't like BBQ flavoring on chips OR soy), split pea soup (paging Linda Blair), etc. So at least 5 or 6 of my "free" items are things I would never eat.
And I also took a good 20 minute walk with DH, DS and the dog. Not speedwalking, but at least I was out and moving.

I would call Nutrisystem and tell them. I know there is a return policy. You never know, they might send you a stamped envelope to send the items back. Never hurts to ask.
I did Nutrisystem for 5 weeks and was off a couple of weeks and just got my 2nd order today. Make sure to count your items, I had a few items missing as well a few damaged items!!!

Yay!! I started Nutrisystem yesterday. I've never done a formal diet before, but everything I've had has been good. As a matter of fact I'm eating the chocolate crisps thingies right now...I can't believe how good they are!!

I've been interested in trying NS but haven't had a chance to do so yet. My cousin lost about 30 pounds after she had her baby, so I figure it is worth a shot. Does the food taste good? Do you feel "full" after eating a meal?

Well I'm on day 3 and all the dinners have been good--I let DH taste them so he knows how it is going. After the 1st day I am sticking to bar type meals for lunch because of ease at my workplace--I'll save the more high maintainance items for weekends and spring break. Same with breakfasts--can't eat cereal at work because no fat free milk is sold at school, so I'm trying to do eggs and cereals on other days. Next month I'll know better and order more bar type items.
Snacks are really good--I've had the NS chocolates and the mint chocolate bar and the chocolate crunch bar.

Yup: Dinner and snacks are very good; lunch and breakfast not-so-much. The portions are small, and they're supposed to be. You're relearning how much (little) food you're supposed to be eating. It's a necessary step in losing weight and keeping it off, so skip that and you're not really going to be able to sustain your accomplishment.

I really like the strawberry toaster pastrys and the blueberry muffins.
I didn't like the vegatable fajita at all or the chicken and dumplings. Like other posters have said, some things are really good, other things not so good.

I just started today! Please keep posting about the foods you like and dislike, I want to know what to stay away from for the next order. My friend who is on this loves the sweet potatos and the pea soup. I had the apple oatmeal today and it was pretty good.

I do not know anything about NS, but wanted to stop by and say good luck with your new program!!!!:cheer2:

Today is day 13 for me and I've lost 4 lbs! I have been going to the gym almost every day as well, but that is normal for me...Most everything is still delish, but I didn't care for the vegetable fajita dinner...bleh!

Energy level is WAY up!

Just curious how you are all doing on the diet. I started NS 3 days ago and I'm actually having a hard time eating so much food. I haven't cared for any of the desserts so far. Other than a fajitas should I stay away from anything else?

Good Luck!

I've given up on anything from them that comes in a bag or in a cup-of-noodles like cup (typically these are either noodle-based meals or soups). Their dinners aren't bad, though some remind me of Chef Boyardee. :)

I'm down 14 in two months, eating pretty-close to the NS plan, though subbing in better cereals (like Special K Protein Plus) for breakfast, and HMR meals, or salads with tuna, chicken, crab or salmon, instead of NS lunches.

Does anyone need a buddy coupon? Here is one that will save you $30 off your first order. E-mail me if you need another one.

i have lost 5 pounds in 5 days.....I guess I have a lot of water!!!
Good luck to all of you!

I'm not on NS, I'm on the "doing my own thing" diet and I'm bored.

I was on NS years ago and loved it.

Is it very expensive now? I was single and childless at the time and could afford it back-in-the-day. Could you do the same thing with Kashi meals or Lean Cuisine type meals for less $? Now I'm curious!

Hi Bicker! I love running into you!

There is a great thread on the budget board outlining how to start NutriSystem using coupons to save money. After savings the first month comes out to about $213 with four weeks of food paid for and also one free week. The budget board also has posts listing foods to avoid. They say the tuna noodle casserole looks like cat food.

Good luck with your journey to good health.
